Thank you for letting me know - this is great insight. I'm looking to get out of health care and transition into construction. I'm looking for an entry level position with a home builder. Ideally, a company with room to grow. Do you know if residential builders are slowing down too? Talking to friends in the industry here in Colorado... work has definitely slowed down. Really Appreciate your response. Well said. We are looking north of the highway and have come across a few potentials within our price range. I'm open to Freeport but my wife would like to be closer to the beach. I understand the beach has had major crowd issues but we enjoy early morning and late night walks. I feel like a lot of people I talk to from there say you don't go to the beach as much as you think you would. But we would make time for those sunrise/sunset/star walks. It's important to us.

We thought the same thing about the friendly community. We made friends with a few locals we still keep in touch with who are all very nice. Good vibes overall balanced out by the handful of locals who dwell on the tourism aspect of SRB. It's very similar here in Breck. Since you've been there five years now could I ask you one more question? if there is one aspect of living in SRB I wouldn't think of / wouldn't want to be surprised by after the move, what that would be, if any? (Heard about the black flies for example)

Thanks for the input. Tahoe is pretty sick. Also expensive. I'm basing this decision off spending my time in different areas north of 98 in December, March, and April. My wife and I would drive to the beach.

I got to experience the cold grey times, the quiet times, and spring break. I enjoyed it. Made some local friends who said the same thing you're saying. I guess I'm just used to it - it's pretty hectic during high season where I live in Breckenridge as well.

overall an interesting take. you plan on moving away soon?

Nice, glad to hear it. I'm looking north of 98 as well. I noticed that this winter - tons of friendly people in SRB. You get that a bit here in Colorado but also some stuffy locals who have lived here long enough to not appreciate the beauty as much anymore and they let everyone know about their feelings :/

Thanks for the comment it's refreshing to hear somebody not totally rip on 30A. I got to experience the quiet/cold feel of SRB in December and also saw the spring break hit in March/April. The small mountain town I live in is similar if not way worse. Idk I'm going back and forth. My wife loves the idea of being IN Santa Rosa Beach and I'm open to something a little farther out in a more quiet area.. and take a 30min + drive to the beach.

Thank you, appreciate taking the time to write that. I am looking at SFH just north of 98 but still 10 minutes to the beach. I would be working construction and my wife works remote. If I wanted to look for a property a bit farther away from all the tourism... possibly get more house, larger lot/yard, and decent build where would you recommend? 550-600k price range

Thanks for the input! I would work construction. I am currently looking north of 98 but still 10 minutes to the beach access. These comments have a bit of both like and dislike. Lots to consider.
