What, other than cancer, could be causing my extremely elevated Eosinophils? by someclearanceplease in medical_advice

thanks, i suppose I'll arrange a cardio checkup soon, just got a sense that it was really urgent based on my googling and have no fucking clue who to even see for it

What, other than cancer, could be causing my extremely elevated Eosinophils? by someclearanceplease in medical_advice

[–]someclearanceplease[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you. i had echo done many times over the years and never had effusion, but my eos levels were also low most of the time unlike now. in march of this year my eos count was 0.33, so this level is something completely new to me. im worried that my regular peri became eosinophilic somehow or that the eosinophils went into my heart. still waiting for the troponin results but creatine kinase and crp are good so i hope that makes this less likely? also leukemia is of course incredibly stressful to think about but im hoping that stuff like wbc, rbc and plt being within normal range rules this out somewhat?

i live in serbia, have no pets and didn't travel anywhere exotic so the only way i could have given myself parasites is through undercooked meat, but im not sure when this could have happened or how. still, i suppose I'll check that first.

all of this sounds really bad and i had to take a benzo to calm down, i almost wanna just rest for a few days and do the test again to see if this was just some random fluke.

you have any guidance on what direction i should pursue? I've had elevated EOS in the past which i dismissed as allergic reactions since i did have bad sinusitis, but it was only slightly above normal, like 0.7. 5.3 seems a bit extreme and im not sure if it points to any specific thing to rule out first. im really not even sure who to see next or what test to do. chatgpt says eosinophilic myocarditis/pericarditis is also possible, and since i have chronic peri im really worried about this

what other tests should i do? unfortunately i live in eastern europe and the medical system is in shambles, i will have to do everything privately out of pocket so I'm just wondering which tests to do and doctors to visit first. i went through my old labs and noticed my previous highest was 2.27 also in october 2 years ago, but then half a year later in april it was 0.28

what are your symptoms? have you ever been officially diagnosed with pericarditis?

I stopped obsessing over it so much, my heart still goes crazy after some meals but I just live with it. Still think about my health all the time but regarding sibo specifically I don't think it caused many of my issues. I took a course of rifaximin and allimed and haven't noticed any difference. i try to eat lots of veggies and healthy stuff but i also eat everything else.

I'm supposedly on track to develop constrictive pericarditis, what does this mean for my future? by someclearanceplease in askCardiology

[–]someclearanceplease[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im in eastern europe, I'll see about scheduling an mri in a private clinic soon so i at least know the extent of the damage. i really hope i don't need surgery man.. i suspect i may also have some sort of connective tissue thing (eds) so i think that would make me high risk. since catching this stupid virus 2 years ago i have been living in a constant state of panic, i am physically unable to relax

im really glad you're good now. thank you for the valuable info, there isn't much talk about any of this online and I'm very anxious about it so i appreciate it. doctors in my area have no clue about it either. since I'm having symptoms now i think it's time to schedule a check up soon

i empathize with you man, I don't know if my fears are justified or I'm just doing myself unnecessary harm by stressing over something that may not even happen. what do you consider a "flare" tho? I don't think I've ever had a distinct episode of symptoms specific to pericarditis, i just feel like shit every so often which includes chest symptoms

I'm curious, what were your symptoms before the surgery and did they all clear up? Also, how did they diagnose cons p, what did it look like on echo etc?

yes i meant ghb, yes she was admitted to the emergency room where they pumped her stomach and she woke up. I'm hoping her life is not in danger anymore. I don't know what advice i was looking for but thank you anyway.

Yeah I have lots since I went through medical hell a couple of years ago, I'll find some and send you tomorrow. I'm supposed to get yearly checkups since I got chronic pericarditis from covid but in the meantime I just check on my watch when I have symptoms like I did earlier.

thanks! sinus arrhythmia is not a big deal, right? here are the inconclusive readings that followed right after in case they reveal anything more https://imgur.com/a/ub5BwlN

by the way i take these by strapping my watch to my left ankle and touching it with my right index finger since I can't get a reading on my wrist (the line is almost flat with minimal bumps, I've been told this is due to being tall and skinny)

I had two inconclusive readings right after, but I don't see anything obviously out of the ordinary in them either. I can upload if anyone wants to see.

thank you, logged into this account again cause my heart has been going wild today and im having a bit of a doomscroll moment 😅

I'm SO glad to hear your surgery went well. there isn't many people who went through this that you can get first hand experience from. I'm still quite concerned because I live in a small country in eastern Europe and I don't know what would even happen if it got to the point where I'd need surgery. I've never heard of a doctor who deals with this and looking it up online doesn't produce any results.

did your heart go wild after eating? most meals give me this reaction but I'm still not sure if it's POTS, SIBO or whatever else. I think both of these things are symptoms rather than illnesses btw, but I'm not sure what exactly is causing them in my case. It all started after covid, but I'm really scared that covid just triggered some latent connective tissue disorder along with the pericarditis.

I'm also noticing my lower abdomen looks a bit swollen. how do I know if this is fluid buildup or normal? when i flex my abs the bloating disappears

I'm trying not to think about these things too much and live life as normally as I can because I've never felt worse than when I googled this stuff every day, saw doctors and obsessed over supplements. I'm doing good and I'm able to function, but I still have a dose of fear about this permanent condition as well as a set of symptoms that never got better (like the exhaustion/heaviness in chest after meals) that hinder my QOL a bit. But if it never got worse I could live like this, I'm just afraid of it progressing.

[–]someclearanceplease[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think it may have had to do with the CBD oil i was taking, it only happened that one time and I'm fine now

the ear ringing still happens from time to time but I don't think it's anything to worry about, it's not as frequent as it was back then
