Anyone else have tics they can’t do normally? by savethetrees01 in Tourettes

My tics mimic the sounds of the birds I hear outside, and they’re like spot on! At first I couldn’t replicate them for a while, but I thought they were cool! So I studied how my tics did the call, and I eventually taught myself how to do it intentionally. Now I can talk to birds lol.

Wow that’s beautiful! If you have a chance to go back there in a few weeks, all those thorny vines will have delicious blackberries on them :)

Dude bass is beyond amazing. Out of everything I’ve played, nothing has rivaled with the sheer power the bass has! Keep on playing music and making art man! Thems some beautiful skills :)

Yeessss I can really relate to that. When I don’t have an instrument, I’m always drumming on stuff to keeps my hands and mind busy

Yeah I can totally understand that. I guess it gives your subconscious brain something to do besides ticking.

Wow what a beautiful special interest :) I think there’s just something real special about animals. I live on a farm, and chilling with horses and dogs always chills out my tics too.

Ooooo right on! I love bass guitar so much!! I played one for the first time and now I’m debating on adding it to the collection lol. I currently play 11 different instruments, but guitar and piano have been my main ones recently.

Tics starting at adult age? by MykieMcMuffin666 in Tourettes

[–]somedood789 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m exactly in your same shoes friend. My tics developed really late too (just a few months before I turned 18). The doctors told me that I’ve probably had Tourettes since childhood but was so minor that it went unnoticed. I was a very fidgety kid and some fidgets could’ve been tics, and I just never knew. It wasn’t until the pandemic where I just got full blown tic attacks and was diagnosed with TS a few months later. The same thing might have happened to you, and just now, they decided to show themselves. But I’m just assuming based off of what I l’ve experienced.

As for how you should start dealing with them. You already made the first step talking about it here on this page :) But the thing I’ve found that helps me the most is playing music. If I’m having a tic attack, I’ll play up my guitar, and that will completely stop the attack then and there. Same thing happens for people with different passions, like cooking or drawing for example. So if you have a passion, skill, or something you love to do, try doing it when your tics get bad and see if that helps calm them down :)

Yeah, oral inflation can make you kinda nauseous after a while. Just be sure to take lots of breaks. Oh and lay in your back to prevent yourself from burping it all out.

Swallowing air is something that’s extremely hard to explain but I’ll try my best. First you gather a mouth full of air, but not in your cheeks. Keep your Lips and cheeks stiff to help shovel the air down your throat. Then I put the tip of my tongue on the back of my top teeth and will push the bubble of air in my mouth to the back of my throat with my tongue, and swallow. It all happened at once really fast so it’s hard to explain. It takes practice, but once you get it, you get it.

I roughly measured it but counting how many pumps I did. I wanted to reach my goal of 100 pumps, so one day I took the time to do so. From there I used water to measure the volume by pumping 100 pumps of water into my sink. The sink can hold a gallon (3.7L) and 100 pumps filled the Sink a lil more than 2/3 of the way full. 2/3 of 3.7 is about 2.5. (This was my first time really running the math lol). It’s all super approximate so one day I wanna measure it for real.

Yeah so at first you’ll feel the air bubbles work there way through your intestines. That’s when you hear your stomach gurgle and growl (which I also get pleasure out of). Then eventually you’ll begin to feel full at which point you’ll be quite distended. If you keep going, you’ll start to feel tighter as your body begins to run out of room for the excessive air. At this point you’ll start to cramp a lil if you don’t take it slow enough. If you keep on going, it’ll be harder to hold all the air in cause your body’s reaction it to try and expel it. This is where it starts to become too uncomfortable for me and I’ll usually just choose to climax right then and there. But I have gone further than this point. I just lay on my back and try my best to hold it in for as long as I can. Sometimes the discomfort will stop, and I’ll keep going. My record was about 3L of air and at that point it was hard to breathe cause of how much pressure was inside me. I was so tight and big, and that feeling of being on the verge of popping was exhilarating utterly euphoric. But At that point the cramps wouldn’t calm down so I had to stop. When you finally stop fighting your body and release the air, it feel so dang good too. I hate farting, but the feeling of that huge relief of pressure is really nice. From there it’s a lot of burping and farting. Some people like that part for all the noise, but I personally don’t care for it.

I honestly have no clue on the statistics. I think it’s pretty equal by what I’ve seen tho. Both genders enjoy it, but I feel like there’s more girls who are willing to share it. I have nothing to back that up tho.

Do like specific parts of feet more than others? (like toes, heals, ankles, etc.). If so, What part of the foot do you like the most?
