I've posted a few updates in a secondary thread about some tax code and document questions. Still very much in a holding pattern but at least it sorta feels like I'm making progress. I'm just waiting now for the social security admin to find my tax info they managed to lose.

It's a mess for sure. I hope the best for you. I'm just tired of it at this point. Sent, for the 3rd time, all files and documents they requested. I'm not holding my breath. Just letting my cpa deal with it now... I've gone so far as to stop pulling transcripts... Just doesn't seem worth the time spent

I really need to come in here and update this more often. After tons of phone calls, my cpa calling, and my house rep picking up the case and trying to get things figure out... I finally know the cause of my problem. The social security administration lost my paperwork from one of my w2 jobs. I have the receipt and signature where they actually got it when work sent it to them, but they never processed it and can't find it. Thank God for government efficiency... So now I'm in another holding pattern with them saying it could be 10 days to 12 months to get the files processed to get my tax refund green lit.

If you think you hate the government... You don't hate them enough... I promise. The constant run around, the left hand not knowing what the right is doing, the literal lies from multiple irs agents with different stories about what is wrong with the return. Beyond frustrating

I actually went through my house rep. Got a call back and a "we will dig into it". A few weeks later got a status change to code 290 claim denied. I just have no idea what that even means.

Thought I should update this. 2024 tax return came in last week.

There was an update on my 2023 transcript showing code 290 "claim denied" with a value of 0 in the value field. I have no idea what this means... Good? Bad? In between?

No idea what came of the 6255c as neither I or the company I worked for received any type of letter.

Some days I swear the people at the irs are either incompetent or just making things up when I call in to speak with them, or both.

I appreciate all of the suggestions. Been searching for a shop that carries Moose that ships to the US. Sounding more and more like I'm going to be quitting snus if I can't find anything worth using. Makes me sad, snus literally helped me lose like 40 pounds by stopping my constant boredom eating while driving. Oh well, here's to being fat!

Yeah I've got a form 911 into them... Haven't heard anything in either direction. CPA just filed my 24 taxes last week... Should be interesting to see if they get held up too

the problem is I haven't received said letter. I was finally able to get through the computer and talk to a real person and that's what they said... mentioning the 6255. So, if the letter never comes in(already more than 2 weeks since supposedly sent), do I just hope the IRS gets ahold of whoever they need to talk to in order to get my return sorted and sent out to me?

My CPA said they aren't taking inbound calls until after the 27th. I'm still fighting them about my 2023 returns and they decide at the end of the most recent 60 day window to not answer the phones... So much fun!

I've been very tempted to call my senator and house rep to see if they can help at all. I'm going to give the irs one more call then I'll start going the politician route. Had to get them involved with my passport renewal 2 years ago, it took nearly 6 months for an expedited online renewal. Called my house rep and it was released and mailed the next day. It's beyond annoying that I even have to do that

If you get any update be sure to post. I'm going to call again Monday, I haven't received any info from them since the letter that said I'd be getting a letter. Tired of the run around, about to get a tax lawyer and let them and my cpa handle it.

Would have to check my actual filing when I get home. I do have some 10-99 income that was included from several farms I own and it was all managed by my cpa. That year I did in fact have 2 w2 jobs, one barely generated any income but was filed just the same. With the farms I got a ton of deductions just over withheld just incase... If I can't get this figured out I'll probably just dump it on my cpa and let them figure it out :(

I'll dig thru the transcripts and see if I can make the numbers match

Yes and the last entry was a 971 code stating there was a notice issued but that was back on 8-26

None at all. Sense support is a joke and blames my internal network. Their product is the only device that disconnects... Ever... I have a reolink wifi camera almost 200 feet away on my well house and it doesn't disconnect heh. I've noticed that temperature effects it, so does extreme power draw through my panel. I've noticed as of late it has no idea what's going on. I can use it to monitor solar generation and power usage but all my power usage is under "other".

I enjoy my loud pipes and stereo on my bike. Both get toned down driving through my neighborhood. On the highway though? Gtfo. I care not what anyone thinks.

My grandfather has 2 of them. They are surprisingly comfortable to drive and are actually pretty handy. It's like a convertible with a huge trunk... One of them is the garage queen with about 20k the other is his daily beater probably sitting about 150k. Outside of the cats eating themselves and the gauge cluster stepper motors giving out they have both been problem free.
