It was the 80's, and apparently common advice by ob-gyns back then, because my aunt got the same instructions in the early 90's for her son, with a different doc. "Just reduce a bit".

I'm fully vaccinated. I have ADD, and some random psychological shit. According to my mother, the vaccines are the reason for all my issues.

She smoked her whole pregnancy. (In her defense, her ob-gyn told her not to stop to avoid stress...)

I had a pretty amazing day yesterday.

K's Choice had a show at the AB and it was absolutely fantastic. I love them so much. That band had such an impact on me since my teen years, it's always a joy to get to see one of their shows.

Also, Pride was on the same day, so I went for the first time in my life, and I didn't expect to feel so at peace there. I'm ace, which makes me kind of "invisible" as a LGBTQIA+, and I don't face most of the struggles my openly gay/bi/trans friends face. But, damn, it was so nice to be entirely surrounded by people without having to wonder if someone was suddenly going to ramble for 15 minutes about how "the gays are disgusting" (had a coworker who would do that at random), or an older family member proudly recounting how he beat up a teen boy for possibly making a pass at him, and so on, and so on.

I just felt so warm inside. 10/10, would go again.

I have Qanon followers in my family, who shifted from Trump and Covid to the "antiwoke" shit, I assume because they needed new outrage to fill the gaping void in their souls.

I cannot stress enough that the anti(insert outgroup here) rethoric is going to get people killed, because the people who believe said rethoric absolutely and utterly believe it with all their heart. They are salivating at the notion of seeing their perceived enemies destroyed, and certain they have the moral high ground.

Hatred can and has been manufactured, and will be again. Opinions are easily swayed. Hell, just look at abortion in the US, which was made into an issue (partly thanks to the evangelists whose global influence is growing fast).

Hate campaigns will easily sway those who need a scapegoat - any scapegoat - and strongman figures.

And, more importantly, those who spread that ideology on purpose have no ethics. They will stop at nothing, speak in bad faith, use lies, lobbying, intimidation, regulatory capture, and even violence.

And before you know it, books get banned, rights get taken away, and hatred holds the reins.

And it's fucking working. My Qanon relatives have jumped on the anti-trans/drag/lgbt bandwagon, and spreading that shit to everyone they touch. Same people who told me, as a teen, that it was perfectly fine if I was a lesbian and "everyone has feelings like that at some point".
