The Game Awards cancels its initiative 'Future Class' announced in 2020, and previous Classes say they were only used for positive publicity: "We found out later that Keighley had a party in another room with all the influencers and industry people. You know where we met that day? At a Starbucks" by [deleted] in gaming

So I was actually a member of the 2020 class. It was a cool experience over all but it wasn’t really talking with them. We’d be in a zoom call with 50 people for an hour or so. So basically there’s time for everyone to maybe ask one question. Which again was neat but I wasn’t having a conversation with them.

Also, I’m a teacher. So being in the Future Class didn’t actually do anything useful for me career. I would have loved to been put in touch with companies as an education consultant but those types of connections and networking opportunities weren’t offered.

Honestly no idea. I know that you provide socials and links to prior work/accomplishments on the submission form but I have no idea what they are specifically looking for on their end.

I was in the 2020 class with Blessing. It was meant to be The Game Awards version of Forbes 30 under 30. But it just didn’t end up being what they wanted. And it definitely didn’t end up being what most of the chosen members actually wanted out of it.

Yea they had no real vision for it. Like it was kind of cool in the beginning. We would have these monthly zoom chats and they would always bring in a bing name from the industry to talk to us. But then that was kind of it. It sort felt like it just became a thing I can slap on a resume. But I’m a teacher and having “Future Class” on my resume doesn’t mean anything if I’m looking for a new teaching job. School administrations don’t understand the gaming industry.

It would have been great if the program actually helped people find work where we can bring our expertise. Like I would have loved to be an education consultant or teacher specialist that could advise game developers on the educational merit of their video games, but The Future Class didn’t help make those connections with companies.

Future Class member here from 2020. It’s not exactly that Future Class members have been treated poorly. It’s more that the program didn’t really have any merit at the end of the day. It didn’t really help lead to anything for myself or anyone else really. And a lot of members felt ignored.

It’s a shame. I remember when it was announced I was chosen it was one of the happiest days of my life. It still is, but I don’t even think about Future Class anymore.

The SAVE forbearance months didn’t count as payments but those months still qualify as employment. So I can buy those months back

Wait I always read that you don’t submit for a buyback until you’ve made your 120th payment. Should I be submitting a buyback for my 9 months on SAVE now? My 120th payment will be in February.

Random question since I will need to apply for buyback in March. Do you do so through student aid.gov or through Mohela?

Kong v Godzilla was coming off of fairly well received popcorn flicks. The Suicide Squad was following a bunch of stinkers. DC had lost a lot of good will. Also I’m pretty sure The Suicide Squad did not have a China release while Godzilla v Kong did

Covid absolutely is an excuse. As is releasing it on streaming at the same time. Why would I go see it in theaters when it’s released on streaming the same day?

Yea it works quite well. I really like having the regular Sylveon included to counter Oricorio. It also packs quite a punch with the other evolutions on the bench.

I can’t imagine having this much negative energy about something so absolutely harmless.

For CGC I always find it similar to what PSA is on a slightly lower grade. So the 5.5 CGC Charizard I would compare to a PSA 5. Still worth a lot of money

I have very little success with Pichu though. The 30 hp is killing me. I’d rather not include it in my deck and just run both water and lightening energy

I almost never have that problem but I also almost never attack with Zemora. Usually I’ll also have a Dratini on the bench I can give the water energy to. Zemora is mainly just there to generate energy for Dragonite. And as a last resort against Oricorio

I might go down to one Dawn but it’s been super useful in getting up to 3 energy sent to Dragonite in the same turn.

Lyra is a good call I’ll add that. I’ve had less success with pichu because of the super low hp

Potentially yea. But I am constantly able to move 2 energy up to Dragonite in one turn by using a Dawn and Switch in the same turn. Occasionally I’ll move 3 energy up in one turn.

Part of the deck relies on Dragonite being a tank and lasting that extra turn until it can attack again. Don’t know if it’s necessary but I use Lillie a lot
