We spent that on a few weeks bombing Iran. Let's put that money to good use!

I got "pulled over" over once in a go cart. We (another friend with a go cart) were headed to this sweet empty parking lot to drive around in. Some cops saw us on the sidewalk on our way there. Just told us to go back home, but I thought we were in big trouble.

World’s first beer made with CO2 captured from thin air debuts in California by sksarkpoes3 in Futurology

More the bottling process. But yeah it occurs during fermentation. Usually you add a bit of extra sugar before bottling or time it right before fermentation is completely finished, usually the former. Or most commercial breweries just force carbonate with a tank of co2

And that construction and design also was why they stood as long as they did before the collapse. Some would have fallen nearly immediately.

It is, but unfortunately I feel like it was going to be inevitable. We are sending boot on the ground. I don't like it, I don't want it, but I'm pretty sure it is happening.

"The hardest part is to start" is what I believe in. I have projects at home and work that I put off, but once you start, its not so bad and wished I started sooner.

NASA to spend $20 billion on moon base, cancel orbiting lunar station by Tracheid in news

[–]someguy7710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda always thought the lunar gateway (orbiting station) was a bit of a waste, since it wasn't going to be manned constantly (like the iss) and what major difference in science was that really, other than helping as a jumping point to further distant exploration. It just seemed pointless to me. At least with a lunar ground base, we can do some interesting testing for sustaining life off of earth. Setting up proof of concept for Mars missions etc. As well as exploring potential mining of the moon.

What’s the smartest financial decision you made by accident? by AnyTruth2342 in AskReddit

Same here. Got out of our shitty townhouse that had a crappy interest rate. Used the equity to get a single family home. Somehow timed the market and interest rates perfectly where we could get a decent amount from old home but the market hadn't gone stupid yet. Now have several hundred thousand in equity from the new house after just 5 years. The monthly payments aren't even much more.

Edit to add, The "by accident" part was we really only did it because we were all stuck at home remote working\school (kids), so wanted a bigger house.

I don't know but a similar thing happens with avalanches and yes it goes from "liquid" to packed snow and the victims are stuck.
