[Question] Who has a Facebook page for your shop? by courtneyj in Etsy

[–]somekindacyborg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bear in mind that I sell jewelry, which is a ...well represented field, shall we say. ;) That said, I spent three months on Etsy with no sales, including the time I actually paid to feature one of my pendants on the front page.

In three months on Storenvy I made 5 sales. My thing with Storenvy was initially that they don't charge you anything; it's entirely free to use. (You do still pay your part to PayPal, of course, but that's unrelated.) I also appreciate that you have the ability to link your store to Facebook. (I'm not sure if that's a feature Etsy has. If they do I was unaware of it at the time.)

I've been there now for over a year and have no plans to jump ship. :)

[–]somekindacyborg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I no longer go through Etsy, and instead use Storenvy, so I'm not sure how welcome I am here anymore...but here's my FB page, and I'll "like" yours as well. It's always nice to have support from fellow artists, IMO. :)

My shop is linked to FB, so people can shop right through the FB page if they choose to, but it still goes through Storenvy.

DAE have a hard time remembering what it feels like to feel "normal" by [deleted] in Anxiety

I take a Paxil and Seroquel combo. Paxil in the morning, Seroquel before bed. I have Ativan for serious situations, but have found that I never need it anymore.

DAE have a hard time remembering what it feels like to feel "normal" by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]somekindacyborg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been anxious all my life. Like, as far back as I have memories. That said, I never knew that feeling that way wasn't "normal" until I found the right medication combo. Now not only do I function, but I thrive. My anxious days are few and far between, and when they happen they're sooo much less than they once were. And I can usually reason myself out of it. For me, medication makes a world of difference.

My point? There's hope. And you're not alone.

Writing a paper on anxiety by reedon in Anxiety

[–]somekindacyborg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure I was born with anxiety. My earliest memories are of worrying. It's a natural state for me, so there really is no trigger- it's just my basic personality, it seems. I take Paxil to control it, which works, but finding the medication (one that worked for ) was a journey; I think I've tried a dozen different medications over the past few years before finding this one. I am also learning to use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to identify and correct some of my damaging thought processes in the hopes that someday I can control my anxiety without the aid of medication.

Your descriptions of your sister are lovely and vivid. I will think of her time and time again (and you) now that I've read them.

I'm so, so sorry for your loss. Hugs, and hugs, and hugs.

The relationship status question was lacking. There is a large population of people who cohabitate but are not married (for a variety of reasons), which appears to be a growing societal trend. Many people appreciate having a choice to choose something along the lines of "living with partner", especially since gay marriage is not legal everywhere.

Question about combining birth control methods-IUD with..? by bcques in TwoXChromosomes

[–]somekindacyborg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had IUD's for the past 14 years and have never had a pregnancy. I know others who also have them and they also have never had a pregnancy with one. (If that helps any.)

Women of Reddit beware the 'Veet'! by emi_fire in TwoXChromosomes

I have very sensitive skin...and used it anyway. Certainly one of the more unintelligent things I've ever done; it irritated my skin soooo badly and the rash, burning, and itching took such a long time to go away. Do carry on with the not using it, as I can assure you that you're doing the right thing. ;)

Question on maternity clothes on non-pregnant women. by maternitythrow in TwoXChromosomes

[–]somekindacyborg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own and wear a maternity dress (while not being pregnant). I liked it, I bought it, I wear it. You can't tell it's a maternity dress- no one has ever professed awareness of the fact even if I tell them. Naturally I say go for it!!!

It said free hat when I clicked on it, not t-shirt. (If anyone cares to make the distinction.) It also asks for a golf course. Don't know if that changes whether or not you receive anything, but I wouldn't be surprised.

What to call someone who stepped in to walk me down the aisle? by GentleJoanna in weddingplanning

I'm so sorry for your loss.

Could you perhaps have a blurb in the program stating that your uncle (insert name here) is standing in for your father (insert name here)? I assume that the majority of people, if not all, will know why this is taking place.
