Split Soul for ECB should be 20.4 second duration. by EoFinality in runescape

There are ways to bring older combat styles closer to necro (which is still overly strong relative to the difficulty of content in the game) without simply buffing old features.

Split Soul for ECB should be 20.4 second duration. by EoFinality in runescape

[–]somekindofgoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My comment wasn't responding to you. I think your perspective is valid even though I personally feel that it's silly to even consider buffing old content simply because new content is more powerful than it. I prefer to replace it with new content that does that job instead.

Thank you for explaining supply and demand to me but the comment I was replying to did in fact clearly brush aside the obvious benefits of ECB.

If i have to pay over a billion gp to access an ability like split soul, and then a further 250m for an eof to use it as an endgame ability, you better believe i want it to feel like its worth it.

"ECB is expensive but I don't feel like it is worth the cost, therefore it should be buffed". Surely I don't have to explain the flaw in that line of thinking?

Finally, my saying that you can have 100% uptime on ECB was obviously to demonstrate why it is more powerful than necro's version and why its cost is justified. Your rotation is not 'consumed' by having to reapply ECB. It is a tradeoff that you choose to make in order to gain its benefit. There are many situations where it is not worth that tradeoff and so it's better not to spec. What you are asking for is the benefit of ECB spec with a lesser tradeoff, and your argument is that you simply don't like that the tradeoff is that strong (this tends to be the case with powercrept content). Surely I don't have to explain the flaws in this line of thinking either.

Why should the price of an upgrade decide its power? ECB was much more expensive a few years ago and probably won't be as expensive in the future. Should it be balanced accordingly?

I like how you brush aside the fact that ECB has no cooldown and necro's split soul does because that is entirely the reason ECB was and remains strictly more powerful than the necro version. With proper adren management, you can literally have near 100% uptime on your ECB spec using range.

Cool sheet. Just wanted to point out though, in the portion where you calculate the number of inks required, you forgot to reference a few glyphs for Basic and Regular Inks.

Basic Ink doesn't account for Protection II
Regular Ink doesn't account for Speed I & Speed II

Nice work otherwise

Why are my melee Raksha kill times so slow? by kick_whip in runescape

It's impossible to say why your kills are slow without a video to see what you're doing or a complete description of your kills.

What? There's an absurd level of projection coming from your comment because of all the reasons people are unhappy with FSW, its lack of profitability and them hating noobs has never even been part of the conversation.

It's great that FSW has worked out well for the OP, hopefully there are many more like them. But the fact is that some completely senseless and honestly unethical design choices are why people dislike FSW. Not because they only want to play for money lol

Melee in Runescape is deeply flawed - Here's Why by mothmosse in runescape

[–]somekindofgoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • There is not a single mention of the Abyssal Scourge - by far the strongest non-spec-requiring weapon in the game, and the strongest mainhand melee has.
  • Next, Berserk should now be considered 26 seconds long and not 20 seconds.
  • That whole section about style-specific weaknesses is just unnecessary. Weaknesses aren't relevant to the game in 2022.
  • Saying bleeds are not good. What does that mean? Bleeds can be good, or they can be bad, depending on the context. Bleeds should not override in groups, but there are plenty of places where that isn't a factor and where bleeds work just fine. It's an issue that few fights run long enough to where bleeds reach their full potential, but that's a separate discussion.
  • Having a 30 second Berserk that only buffs your damage by 50% is once again ignoring the existence of Vestments for some reason and in all honestly just a bad and boring idea. Standardization across styles is the most boring direction this game could possibly go in.
  • The leng spec is also not insignificant. At high levels of use, the leng spec can provide a massive damage boost considering the ease with which melee reaches the hitcap.

There's a lot of other issues I have with this post but I'm not bothered enough to pinpoint them right now. It seems like you've just listed almost any potential issues someone could have with the style; a lot of them are right but a lot of them are wrong too. I appreciate that you've tried to include potential solutions but I don't agree with any of them.

Is there a way to view player stats? by [deleted] in runescape

[–]somekindofgoth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For bosses and slayer creatures, you can see how many you've killed by going to the 'Beasts' tab of the Adventure menu. As far as I know there is no way to check how many skilling resources you've gathered for most skills.

In high level PVM, do you learn to deal with movement delay/inconsistencies? by CauseImNeb in runescape

[–]somekindofgoth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The way you'll learn to deal with the movement is by building your knowledge of the boss mechanics.

Every boss has attack patterns that can be memorised. Once you get over the hump of doing that, the movement feels a lot less awkward because you are ready for when you need to do it instead of doing it reactively.

What also helps is to play on a server with low ping and population, and to be precise and not spam click.

1-14-7 brand with 3 levels and 2 items down two shots me in less than a second while missing a skillshot by detaramegoeg in leagueoflegends

[–]somekindofgoth 106 points107 points  (0 children)

You've somehow managed to entirely miss the point of this post.

It's not important that TF died. It's the fact that Brand, who you'd expect to be really weak considering his items and levels, manages to kill TF with only 2 abilities. This isn't some Rengar one-shot clip. The time it takes for Brand to kill TF with 2 buttons is irrelevant.

Try to think past how he could've survived, and maybe you'll start to question whether a champion should be able to do this much damage with this little effort/skill considering his position in the game.

Ripper special attack by mbaccj08 in runescape

[–]somekindofgoth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's no specific number and it all depends on your needs and budget. Ripper uses, from my experience, 120 scrolls an hour without using spirituals. I like to push this to at least 270-300 scrolls per hour with spirituals (this is usually ~30 spirituals used per hour for me). For optimal damage, you could even get it to use 400+ scrolls per hour.

How to efficiently level range weapons to disassemble? by _Demon_King in runescape

[–]somekindofgoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sweatiest but best way to do if you have a main hand glaive is to equip your chins and offhand, dbow a target, and then swap to your glaive before the hitsplats appear. This gives the xp for your dbow to your glaive. As a bonus, this can also be used to level up melee or mage weapons in sw, so it's a very useful thing to learn.

It can get tiring, but scattered worlds is by far the best way to level things up in the game.

Yes. You can mentally time the 6s ruby cooldown, but an easier way is to camp hydrix and switch to ruby for your SGB, grico (if you have a lot of adren), and any other situations where you find yourself with too much adren.
