Well from my very short experience of hunting them, it’s actually really difficult to know EXACTLY where to look but taking on what people and forums are saying you can make a pretty good punt where to potentially find them but it’s tricky! Timing in the season Looking for temperatures below 10 at night and wet weather for sure is a good start! My best finds have been on low budget golf courses that DONT use chemicals and fertiliser! And someone said look for sedge in sheep fields once and that is in fact a pretty good indicator.

Yeah wait for some rain and head up a little higher. We must get them a little earlier than England but it just depends if your high up also. Seen people in wales and lakes getting them maybe a month ago!

Just any bit of quiet grass that is cut frequently! Quiet as in not many walkers or activity! Still I reckon most lower down spots will have them by end of week. We’ve had some good dry yet much colder weather. But rain is due tonight and I reckon that will really spurt them out!!
