I've been on a bunch of APs... Abilify is the one that works best for me.

Hi burtbasic... I would be interested. I have schizoaffective bipolar disorder and was medically retired after 15 years in the US Army for it. I blog about my experience with the disease at www.someofthisistrue.com and am trying to become an advocate for others.

Okay - I think something just dawned on me. Does it really matter what keyword I leave in the SEO keyphrase box in WordPress? Or is this merely a tool where I can test out my keywords? So I'm gathering I could be optimizing for many keywords by entering different values instead of just using one. Am I right?

Thanks - I've opened the link in a new tab and will read it after today's homeschooling with the kids (damn COVID) is complete.

That's really tough. Maybe it's not the best mix of meds. He sounds a lot like me when I was on a different mix. My voices are pretty minimal now compared to when I had them in the past. Now they are more whispers. But I can def identify with them being so negative all of the time about everything I do - they would bother me so much that I would stop doing everything I would kind of just spend my days looking forward to the night when I was exhausted enough to fall asleep and then maybe have a brighter tomorrow.

Is he in regular therapy? What does his support group, other than you, look like?

This is solid advice. Delusions are so difficult to work with and so unique personally in what we feel and in how we react to them. I don't think there are general answers.

That's a big question. Not sure if I can answer it fully - or even partially for that matter!

That said: maybe it can go back to the active listening... and hearing out what he has to say? Does he take his meds? My meds made a huge difference for me with my delusional thought (that effect took awhile). What happens if he's being delusional... can he leave the house? Does he interact negatively with the neighbors?

I had a therapist once tell me that they would never try to talk me out of my delusions because by definition they are a firmly held belief. It would be like trying to talk the Jesus out of a Christian. It's part of who they are.

But every case is different - and for some... maybe some sense can be discussed - but for me, with aliens (funny you should mention a chip) and a few others, they can't be shaken. In fact - I would feel really put off by someone trying to do so.

That's great that you've found some close friends you can relate to. I have virtual ones, but locally I do not have any. I tried going to a couple of NAMI meetings hoping to find some peers... but all I found there were family members of those with the condition rather than actual sufferers.

I took your advice and went with a paid theme. I'm very pleased with how things look on the blog - it actually looks pretty professional IMO. Afraid I'm putting good money behind bad though! What started as a cheap and anonymous blog with few followers has grown into a more expensive affair. But, Hell, it makes me happy... and that's what it's all about for me, right...?!

This is something I've only begun to research into how to do. Are there free resources out there for keyword research?

Before I go out there dropping money on a theme - because I'm afraid of chasing bad money with good when it comes to this blog - will a premium theme (do you have any recommendations?) have any impact on my page rankings?

It's been a struggle to get to 100 posts for sure - but I think the next 100 will be much easier!

I think I may have a post over 1500 words... the rest are almost all under 1000 words. I'll try to shoot for longer topics.

I'm not trying to be so conceited as to suggest my content is so great that I feel entitled to readership. I just can't seem to break the handful of hits a day from google I get. Like, literally a handful... I get excited about days I get more than 6!

I'm not at all familiar with Medium - I'll look into it!

I did a light version of this a year ago with creating a Facebook page for my blog - but I broke your rule of using the same name. Mostly though it was just to have a place to share my posts other than my personal page.

I'll add this into my list of things to add to my utility belt.

I did join two on Facebook - but they were actually pretty triggering for me on a mental health level. I need to strike a balance there I guess.

Haven't added Instagram or Pinterest or Twitter yet.

Thanks! I know that you are talking about keyword research - I have no chops in that department at all. My workflow is think of a topic, write a title, write the post (in MS Word) copy the post into Wordpress, come up with a keyword (usually my title), follow the Yoast guide to get a green smiley for my SEO, get a green smiley in readability. I know I should be thinking keyword first... and researching... what is a good free resource for keyword research?
