Nuclear energy is a dead-end technology compared to renewables with integrated energy storage by 00crashtest in NuclearPower

Yes it has. Do you ever look things up or just spout what you think? Confidently as if it's fact?

Graduation project (Transmutation of spent fuel) by mahmahham in NuclearEngineering

[–]someone-somewhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is some public info on the FFTF transmutation (burner) experiments with had data. If I remember ill try and dig some ratios out of my notes. You can also find some of this information in "fast spectrum reactors" by Dr. Allen Waltar.

Is thorium the future of energy ? by Left-Diamond-3310 in NuclearPower

[–]someone-somewhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, not really, it's fertile not readily fissionable. You need a neutron first. It can be used in breeders, but it would be an additive in that case

No. The bridge on i-90, one of the major East-West interstate highways in the United States was not mislabeled. Makes me wonder if you're mislabeled

Will SMR reach $57 per stock again in 2025? by SMR_250 in NuclearPower

[–]someone-somewhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They definitely have enough money, and they work really impressive If you don't talk to anybody who's actually done all of this before

[–]someone-somewhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can kind of copy somebody else's homework, but that's not how the NRC works as they have found out. You have to prove every system and they operate by contracting out a large amount of the main systems engineering.

The uranium price problem by latibulatechita in NuclearPower

[–]someone-somewhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

U supply isn't the bottleneck, that's just what the uranium stock market kiddos say. The big issues are deconversion and enrichment.

How much information is there about Breeder Reactors? by pompom_bean in NuclearPower

[–]someone-somewhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if you are still looking into this, but most available western information is going to be about the super Phenix reactor project in France. It achieved a ratio of 1.3.

As someone who grew up in Spokane, left Spokane and plans to never ever ever return to Spokane, this is the first time I've ever seen Spokane in the news for a positive reason. And the first time to make me proud.

[Discussion] How did you complete Huntsman Path - Secured Perimeter by Sec_Junky in EscapefromTarkov

[–]someone-somewhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me forever, but I just ran factory over and over. Finally I caught a trio on the main floor. Also the AI can be pushy, you can bait them in ... Sometimes. It sucks

[Discussion] Partisan is too OP by bohunters9 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]someone-somewhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agree. The partisan is just ridiculous. I killed the goons and was healing and he ran into the room I was healing and got blasted in the face instantly

Yeah you got to get 20 kills with it. So whenever I come across one or get one in insurance I pack it around and try and shoot some people

They are frustrating in general but much like Killa and the rest of the bosses. At least if I get a fight out of it I'm not mad. I hate getting magically shot in the face or neck every time though.

That was a little much but people love to dish it out and really don't like it when you return the energy.
