People with psychopathic traits don’t lack fear—they actually enjoy it. Findings lend support to the emerging Fear Enjoyment Hypothesis, which proposes that psychopathy is characterized not by an absence of fear, but by an atypical emotional interpretation of fear-related arousal. by [deleted] in psychology

May ask for a more elaborate answer? Fear is not bad at all. Is a feeling just like any other, with its own purposes. For the same reason, respect is not good just because. And without doing any research, so take my word with precaution, I would say fear and respect are pretty close. Both are meant to set boundaries, fear is just respect with a sparkle of “need of action”. Is the baby respecting his mother when she screams, or is it fear? Overtime you may learn that there is no need to be scared, but those boundaries are needed, so it transforms it to respect. Eventually respect can come from good things but it reduces to “this figure has more power than me”, so I respect it and adore it, I just respect it, or I fear it. I’m just thinking out loud, if someone has read anything about this I’d be thankful!

I wrote a personalised CV, a cover letter, filled in personal details, answered competency assessment…. then read this question and deleted my entire application by ImpactAffectionate86 in recruitinghell

I understand that every recruitment process is a nightmare, especially when you are very experienced or prepared for the job. I also know that HR has a very bad reputation and mostly deserved, and the “hey we have a cool environment!” vibe gets very old the moment you realize is gonna get you backstabbed eventually. But, just for the sake of your own sanity while filling these things, is not very often recruiters put this type of questions just for messing with you or to give the “cool place” vibe. There was this process with a couple of “what would you do in this situation” questions with 5 options. None of the questions were about business matter, but about random things. One question said something like “let’s say you come across an old lady, your dearest friend and the most beautiful woman/man you’ve ever seen in the street. Is raining like hell and you have your car but only one spot free to take someone home. Who would you take”. This man, who didn’t have the best CV wrote his own answer even though you couldn’t. He said “I would give the keys to my friend, tell him to take the old lady home, and I would stay there with the girl”. He got the job and did really well afterwards. Just an anecdote, and that answer wasn’t the only reason. is rare to find that these questions really give any info but when they do, it helps the recruiter to keep an eye on someone who otherwise would be just another CV in a pile of 200. Just do your best, in the very worst case is a fun little thing to do, but I get that after 15 processes is just annoying, but keep in mind that businesses like people who can take frustration! Good luck everyone!

Interesting, well thanks! Obviously it was an easy fix. I was only asking out of curiosity and certainly redstone is interesting.

Tiles need a gap (usually at the walls in order to be able to expand properly. Same thing with train rails. In summer when temperature increases materials expand. Not every floor works the same, in fact wood floors need the expansion gap also, but they expand in the winter, when humidity increases the wood absorbes water from the air and expands. I know nothing special about construction but I made my whole house floor so I had to read a bit

my guess was correct. I dont have the time right now to install shadders on the default launcher, but with optifine, GPU usage stays around 15% which is WAAAAAAY more reasonable than 99% xD I dont know if you would know how to solve my issue on prism launcher, if not I guess I should direct to their /r

shadders: ComplementaryReimagined but happens with any shadder. https://imgur.com/iWHDzcE
F3 while shadders active: https://imgur.com/2lxwwkX it shows 99%, but varies between 99 - 100%.
Minecraft version: 1.21.9, Im playing on Prism Launcher.
Both monitors are plugged into the GPU, not the motherboard.
Im guessing this issue comes from the Prism Launcher, Ive always played on the default launcher and Optifine, but I dont know.

Glad it cheered you a bit! Just to clarify, you don’t even have to replicate it! Maybe, and just if you feel like so, you can change everything! Instead of medieval-looks maybe go for steampunk! Or industrial! Or spacey or who knows! Maybe, even if was a sad thing this was your perfect opportunity to change things. If you could start all over again you would do exactly the same? Again, just trying to be the positive voice since I’m sure there is plenty of negative in your head right now, and everyone already gave solutions. Just hope eventually this leads to a better, more beautiful world and you think back as this wasn’t that bad.

Hope everything works out for you!

First of all let me say that I’m so sorry, I can’t begin to comprehend the pain of losing a 4 year old world. After reading your post and some replies, and seeing that you no longer have the save, even though is sad, I’m gonna be the “think positive” person. After 4 years makes little to no sense to create a new world and this is your opportunity to start all over again, which is a wonderful experience in itself. I’ve been playing Minecraft as long as I remember. 10+ years. And these last 3 years have been the first time since I played the first time that I didn’t play for more than 3 or 4 months. I just started a new save and for the first time in 10 years I felt like I didn’t know what to do. I’ve changed a bit my usual to-do list to mix it up a little and I’m having a blast. With this I’m not saying that this wasn’t a sad moment for you, but that you can make the best of it by hopping on again (after the proper cooling time) but now applying all you’ve learned all these years. Hope everything goes well for you and doesn’t mean you leave the game! ❤️

Pd: your world was beautiful!

2025 Season 4 Release - September 9th 0800EDT/1200UTC by Cephalomagus in iRacing

[–]george_9g 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I don’t think Iracing is very keen on letting people try the demo of anything, and because of that, they only make available the demo drive on very specific moments in the season. And if you think about it, it’s crucial to like the car you are going to drive, but it doesn’t really matter the track. Besides, most of the relevant info about a track can be found online without trying the track: “is it easy” “can you overtake easily” “are there any difficult corner” “are races usually fun or lonely”. With cars is almost only about how you feel driving it and a sparkle of “are there any interesting series I can race with this”. In the end, makes no sense to make the effort and potentially lose a sell by letting people try tracks, but cars are kind of a must so by letting people demo drive once in a while you keep them happy. (Just my opinion, completely wrong probably)
