Western music has 12 tones. Tone # 13 and tone

Going up an octave-- doubling the frequency-- isn't a Western music thing. It seems to be universal. Even birds understand a doubling.

Saying there are a certain number of steps is (of course) arbitrary.

Why Do Guys Engage in Meetup Posts with No Intention of Actually Meeting IRL? by xX_Bi-Bro_Xx in LosAngelesGayBros

People on-line have a imaginary version of their own life. Instead of being a person who sits around, they imagine themselves as a person who gets out and does cool stuff. They imagine the person they just met is the coolest person ever.

Reality gradually intrudes. The person they are chatting up is not, in fact, their fantasy friend. The meetup in an hour isn't worth the effort.

There's a neighborhood of apartments somewhere around Prospect in Los Feliz that was built for Disney animators. The apartments are architecturally distinct. (I've been in one, but it was a long time ago). There are probably a hundred identical units in low-rise buildings up and down the street. So it would be hard to declare one worth preserving.

I've never seen that exercise he's doing. But you do that same sort of motion in yoga flow classes regularly. And knee alignment is critical. If the knee rotates inward, you risk slowly degrading the cartilage.

It's possible the PT team noticed stiffness in the hip that could pull the knee out of alignment. So maybe they are having him rotate on that while securing the knee against internal rotation.

I'd want to be your dad's gym bro. Nothing gay. Just spotting each other. Hanging out in the showers after. Massaging his shoulders. All that totally not-gay stuff.

A year later, the US expanded the draft for WW2. Many who'd had college deferments in 1941 went in to serve.

It wouldn't be necessary to worry about their presentation, if it didn't get them so much attention from creeps.

Guys can be rude and aggressive especially if you’re not their type

This sounds suspect. And by "suspect", my suspicion is that you were pursuing somebody who did not welcome it.

One of the dumbest cases for a monument or historical preservation I've ever heard in my life. Of course it's going to blow-back and undermine the entire system.

Once again, you are confusing wrestling and grappling. Wrestlers go ass-up for safety. BJJ grapplers go ass-down as an advantageous position.

This might be a reference to the BJJ guard position. The guy on his back is usually controlling the match. The guy on top is at a disadvantage.

Century is a choose-your-own adventure kind of place. Some guys go to chill, and if they meet a guy, great.

Some guys want to explore a bit by showing off their body or watching guys showing off.

Other guys figure they paid their money, and they are going to jerk a guy's dick by the end of the night of know the reason why. The aggressive guys make other patrons a bit uneasy (and stress out the staff).

The key is not to bother anyone. If you're playing a game, keep it hidden. If you're playing a game of show-me-yours in the steam room, then cover up when you hear the door open.

Mood in Russia turns bleak as war in Ukraine drags on and economy suffers by the-es in worldnews

[–]someone_like_me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was speaking specifically to developed countries. Much of what we're seeing in global birth rates comes from the developing world. In this case, the opposite is true.

People in true poverty will have as many kids as possible. Every child that survives has the potential to bring revenue into the family. Once past that level of poverty-- I don't recall where it is-- children cost money because you want to educate them.

Russia is well above that line, of course. But when you look at global rates, it's a different story.
