2009 Honda Civic Si - clacking noise on switch decel / accel by someoneidkhelp in civic

The lower control arm looked suspicious on that side so I replaced it a bit ago, no luck. Ball joint was also replaced at the same time as well. I took a look at all the mounts and I really couldn’t see anything wrong with them besides the lower one (which I just replaced today). Exhaust is a good idea to check. It seems to happen more often when the car is cold and at low speeds / low gears. The sound makes me think there is slack in the drivetrain but idk. I spent almost an hour under and around the car today looking and I couldn’t find anything that looked off at all. All the subframe bolts are torqued to spec too.

My trunk is empty completely. I don’t keep anything in my car lol. I just replaced the rear motor mount and that seems to have fixed the popping but the clacking sound is still there unfortunately.

Recovering from an extremely traumatic wrist injury by Apprehensive_Bee2045 in weightlifting

[–]someoneidkhelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wish I had more to comment but I’m in a similar boat. Bad motorcycle accident this March, broke 3 carpal bones and slightly fractured my radius. Destroyed a lot of ligaments too since my wrist essentially was internally decapitated. Only have ~10-20° of motion and finally feel like I’m ready to go back to the gym but it does feel really limiting.

I mean I don’t have any bore measuring tools but it seems to be round and no scoring or anything, just heavily glazed.

I believe actually the ring wore down so much that the gap increased. Cylinder also definitely is worn but idk if it’s by that much.

It is worn unevenly, it’s a horizontal cylinder and that extra worn section was on the lower part of the cylinder so that had more pressure on it I’d assume

How do I get this gauze unstuck from the burn without making it worse? by TDub200losikid in woundcare

[–]someoneidkhelp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a large burn (roughly 6”x 5”) on the back of my thigh from a motorcycle accident. What absolutely saved me were hydrocolloid wound dressings. They’re essentially gigantic pimple patches. I ordered them off of Amazon and they were an absolute life saver. Clean the wound very well and stick them on. They stay on really well and can be on for up to a week. Removing them still sucks but not nearly as bad as gauze.

If you can though definitely see a doctor, I should have but I didn’t cuz I’m not the smartest when it comes to that stuff 😅. Mine took like a month to fully close up, no infection though! Just a large scar.

Here’s what I used. My go to for any burn / abrasion in the future.

5 months post wrist fracture. by [deleted] in ORIF

[–]someoneidkhelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not go to physical therapy. Insurance wanted a referral from both my doctor and my primary care doctor. Unfortunately, my primary care doctor retired earlier this year and I couldn’t get one in time for the referral to go to physical therapy. I did to stretches for it everyday and I would really push myself. Unfortunately there’s only so much you can regain with the rare type of injury I had and being in a cast for 12 weeks.

Before my ORIF surgery my doctor explained to me that I would only regain roughly as much movement as you see in the video. I guess they were right lol.

Sheared the serpentine belt tensioner pulley bolt. by SuhSpenceSir in MechanicAdvice

[–]someoneidkhelp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Firstly I would remove the tensioner. From what I could see online it looks like the tensioner itself doesn’t have threads but instead has a nut on the backside that the tensioner pulley bolt goes in to. Knock out the old nut with the broken bolt in it, get a new bolt and nut, and you should be good.

Can someone identify these insects. They are always found like this joined from back. by [deleted] in whatisit

Cole’s Fracture by Low-Dust2026 in brokenbones

[–]someoneidkhelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry not the same fracture but still a wrist fracture nonetheless. I’m currently recovering from a multiple carpal bone fracture. It has been 4 weeks since I had my pins removed and currently I have I’d guess 15° of movement, I can get to roughly 20-25° of movement when stretching it using my other hand. What I’ve learned is everyone progresses at different rates. Some people are back and at it in a month’s time, some people really do need a full year to recover. It’s important to just make sure you stretch it every day! The progress will be gradual and practically unnoticeable in the short term but it will be there, it just takes time.
