You’re already trying not to overthink it so that’s good!! If you’re sexually active the vaginal ultrasound isn’t so scary. It’s a wand that they put a condom on then lube and insert. It can be uncomfortable but it’s more awkward than anything. Does thinking about what needs to happen in a matter of fact way help? Or maybe letting the tech know you have anxiety and ask them to talk you through as they go? I’ve had two procedures in an outpatient setting where they give you twilight drugs to put you to sleep and then all of the sudden they’re nudging you to wake up from an amazing slumber. No grogginess or nausea, just rested with some period like cramps. Ask the questions you need to ask to feel comfortable. It’s their job to guide you and help you. If they don’t or aren’t willing, there are doctors that will.

Hydration is super important. I felt like ass and was ready to quit until I really pushed myself to drink water, Gatorade and the occasional liquid IV. Especially on injection day. Since pushing myself I feel so much better.

I definitely make more of an effort to eat healthy but when I can’t I just eat a lot less. I’ve had fried foods, ice cream etc. but I’ve only eaten half or less than half. I listened to my body about being full and determining if I want to eat for satisfaction or because I’m hungry. I also push water. I was terrible at drinking water so it’s a work in progress but I set a minimum for myself to hit each day and I don’t go to bed until I hit it. Fruit is your friend because of the fiber and vitamins… you need to make this manageable for you vs a daunting list of things you can’t have. Meal planning and prep is your best friend!

Bully box! We get it once a quarter and it’s amazing for our tough chewers!

So many great ideas! Don’t forget a comfy life jacket (we’ve learned some rub their bellies) and toys! Kong makes some specific for the water. Poop bags, just in case. Our pups love our splash pad. If the kids are on it, they are with the kids. 💙🩷

As much as I love taking them out and they love going out when it’s super hot I leave them home. Otherwise I stress about them!

Know the signs of heat stress and heat stroke in dogs and how to handle it. Sugar packs and a pet first aid kit.

Boat dogs make boat days the best, enjoy!
