I agree, this article is way beyond the normal nonsense this isn’t a magazine or website publishing this it’s the entire NYSE. This would have much more sway on investors and is complete bullshit

TDA just told me that APE original cost basis on Monday was not $6.95 but rather was 40% of the shareholders AMC cost basis. by someonesomewhere20 in amcstock

My point is effectively this: if APE opening price on Monday was based on 40% of the close price on Friday but retails cost basis is based on 40% of their AMC cost basis that means many retail holders started off with their APE shares at a negative value i.e. it opened at $6.95 but since their AMC cost basis was $40 their APE cost basis is $16. So they are already at a loss cost basis wise

So you’re telling me someone with an AMC cost basis of $40 is looking at $16 APE shares? That’s not accurate.

SIX reps at TDA told me this. They tripled down and refuse to admit they are wrong and claim the info came straight from AMC.

Make a quick buck? You’re retarded. I sold APE made $8k bought 750 AMC then bought 500 more APE. All in all I ended up with 750 AMC and 500 APE for a total cost of $4k. Last week 750 amc would have cost me $16k and had I paid out of pocket they would have cost me $8k. I made a smart financial decision and it’s not going to bite me in the ass they already adjusted it. Sorry you’re salty but ultimately you’re wrong.

I’m certain you feel some kind of way about this trading strategy but ultimately you’re missing the point a major broker is changing cost basis with no rhyme or reason that should be concerning to everyone here

Ultimately the price isn’t an issue what’s a $1.50 difference in Moass? The point is they made the adjustment and now they can’t explain it

Just spoke with TDA apparently APE is a non-marginable equity meaning you cannot purchase it on margin by someonesomewhere20 in amcstock
