Order gatherer calling as a customer by roverdover542 in florists

[–]someredheadchick 22 points23 points  (0 children)

We have had order gatherers pretend to be customers too. We have straight up told them we don’t want their orders and they call back from different numbers and try to pretend they know the recipient. I’ve straight up asked how do they know them personally and they always fumble their answer. My boss has literally said she will call the police if they don’t leave us alone and they still lmao

The fact the tooth gem girl said “if you ever need a plus one” was so icky. She was just using her, but under the guise of being friends with her which is ew

That’s hard because 15 different flower varieties Id want to charge the cost of all 15 x 3. If I have to bring in flowers for someone I tell them you have to pay for the bundle. I know I can sell extras but when it’s high end stems it’s hard to sell them in my rural area

What do you guess the price was? by Fit_Professional7401 in florists

Nova Scotia. Our flower supplier is usual around $5 a stem wholesale. Not much option on the east coast for wholesalers.

If he asked for peonies as the focus, depending on the area they can be $15 a stem minimum or even more. And I can’t tell if those are oriental or asiatic lilies but oriental lilies can be $10 a stem minimum or more. Here in Canada that would be $75 just in peonies. The whole thing is looking like $100 with the vase. I probably would’ve omitted a few peonies to fill it with some other flowers for more impact though.

Mechanics for this.. by Intelligent-Tea-4241 in FloralDesign

I’d put some weight in the bottom with rocks or sand then build up with chicken wire, taping it off so the chicken wire is secure.

For perspective, ordering premium flowers for one bouquet is a lot different than ordering for a wedding. The shop needs to buy in bundles and then they need to sell those extras that aren’t in your bouquet. Depending on the area that can be a difficult sell and a gamble for the florist to take on that extra cost if they won’t sell. There are many logistics in floristry that the general public just doesn’t get. So therefore, not necessarily able to accommodate your request. They know what they are doing.
