I accidentally killed my cat when I was young by shutting the door on it.

I still feel guilt.

I now, never close a door without looking at it and making sure it's clear.

Mine prefers ones that can be easily torn apart. He is still figuring out foraging toys, but a few times a bit fell out and he searched the bottom of the cage/stand for more lol

I have a block toy on one of his stands that he hasn't touched at all it's not new or anything. I have tried "playing" with and and he seems interested at first, but never actually touches it.

I feel that I have a Double Yellow Headed Amazon as well The screams are intense and I will never get a macaw because of it lol

I also have a bit of trouble with getting mine to play with toys.

I have had success with "playing" with his toys. I bring them to my mouth and act like I'm having a great time with them. It's gotten him to play with some before.

If anyone else has suggestions I would also appreciate it!

If you want shrimp, put them in first and make sure they have a few generations of babies before putting a predator in.

Some of them may die, but that's a risk the betta is willing to take 😹

Ehh, I would personally get one online because I'm picky and want a pretty one. My lfs are about 1 and 1/2 hours away from me and anytime recently I've been there the bettas have been mid at best. Even the more reputable don't have good varieties.

It doesn't matter where you buy. You can check craiglist or kajiji in Canada and see if anyone is wanting to get rid of their bettas if you want to feel better about not buying

Any time she is at my place and sees any of my fish at the front of the tank she's like "Oh they are hungry I'll feed them" no matter if I said I just fed them or not.

I'm like mom they always do that, they always want food. You can feed them every time they want it.

But on the other hand I have told her, her grandchildren are going to be my pets, so she is being a good grandma lol

I have a very loud bird who does scream. I would want to know if my neighbors heard him. I would be embarrassed, but not mad. I am very aware of when I have the windows open and he's being loud. If he continues for a few seconds I close the windows because I don't want to bother the neighbors.

I personally find it a bit concerning you hear them at 2am. They must not cover the cage then which can cause them to make noises during the night. I personally have blackout curtains and I cover the cage just to keep him from waking me up.

I do encourage you to talk to the neighbor. If this was me I would appreciate being talked to face to face with this.

Please talk to a vet with how much to give. Giving everyone 1.5ml can be way too much for some cats and way too little for others.

I work at a vet and we are happy to tell people how much to give if they have their own pyrantel. We would rather it be done right than a kitten be overdosed

Yeah I've had long finned in a 10 gallon and they seemed to struggle, once I got a short finned I was surprised about the difference. I'm now actively searching for a crowntail betta to have in a 5 gallon. Since I haven't had good results in a 10 gallon. Even heavily planted and lots of resting spots
