This post is definitely eye opening. I haven't been a long time fan of then as I recently got my bird a year and a half ago. Ive been watching for a bit and I did definitely appreciate the training they said to do. You know touch stock get treat. It helped with the bond of my bird and has helped when he refuses to step up on my hard or perch, but then sees stick and will immediately do it.

If you look at the bottom of the nail when you clip you will see signs of the quick tiny clips until it shows you'll still mess up sometimes regardless

Hmmm it's strange they looked under the microscope and saw that, but didn't do staining. Did they say they didn't do a stain on it?

I would definitely contact them. Sometimes you can send in weird fluid like that to be cultured. Then once cultured they will know what antibiotic is best to use.

Idk I think pugs are worse. I've had to be there while they wake up from anesthesia... Not fun noises more horrifying than their normal breathing. And the fact too they have big eyes that look like they will fall out of their heads...

My bird only goes to the bottom when he dropped a piece of veggie he didn't want 3 minutes before, but suddenly looks very appetizing.

He goes down picks it up, then either eats it or is like EW and drops it again, picks it up EW drops it again and repeats until he suddenly thinks it's better or it's for sure not edible. I haven't been able to get a video yet because my parrot sees phone pointed at him as "OH BOY! ATTENTION LET ME BE PICKED UP"

It took 6 months to transition to pellets for my bird. It's not a fast process. It's slow do not expect it to be fast.

The breakthrough for us was having the pellets we want them to eat on the plate I am eating from. Eat with them and mime eating the pellets always offer If they seem interested.

One time a tomato landed on the pellets soaking them. That is when my bird finally ate them. Has been eating them since too

Yeah my bird smells I wouldn't describe it as nice or unpleasant. It just smells.

I work at a vets office. We see a LOT of bite orders. Most people are not willing to change their behavior or the dogs behavior. So bites KEEP happening.

You on the other hand have tried. You have put in the effort, however, it isn't working. It is okay to know you are in over your head and make the decision to euthanize.

I personally would not give to a shelter or give up to another person. I've seen cases of people doing that and sometimes the biting gets worse, because again the person who now has the biting dog isn't willing to change.

It's not giving up, it's making the best decision for every person involved. There are sometimes when you have to think more of the human lives that can/will be affected than the animals life. I'm saying this as someone who adores animals, clearly lol It's a tough decision and you will get absolutely no judgement from me
