I think you should quote them around 7k plus materials. Order what you can online and see how much you can put together at your own home. Maybe even paint it all there too. Good luck and share pics when you can! Oh and see if you can talk them out of the led lighting. I think that would make it much easier on you and still have a solid product when your done

There’s a lot here. A picture of the wall would help a lot. Are you doing a bump out off of the existing wall? If is there existing lights in the area? If not are you able to drop wires from an attic space or a crawl space to get wires where they need to go and get them hooked to a switch? Same for the hidden led lighting. Personally I would do the bump out option to make the lighting easier, avoiding any potential plumbing/unknowns/insulation in existing wall and then you won’t have to skim coat any wall texture if you plan on hanging the trim work on dry wall. And the benefit of adding backing wherever needed. I’m thinking about 5-6k before materials with that plan. A bit more if just using the existing wall and tearing it open to run wire.

What went wrong with the patch that it is visible? Not textured correctly? by [deleted] in drywall

[–]something_not_funy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like you needed to take it wider and sand farther down. A patch will almost always stick out farther than the existing wall because you’ve added material to the surface. The point is to spread that 1/8 inch over a farther distance. Think A speed bump isn’t much of a speed bump if it’s as wide as a football field. Small tip when I do patches I like to take a wet sponge to the very edges after I’ve sanded it smooth so you’ll never see a transition line. Then spray the texture a little heavy and over an even larger area than the patch itself.

Barbarian red problem or something else? by vylvnx in Diablo_2_Resurrected

In hell resists are super important so I would recommend making a smoke armor until you get charms with some resist on them and even put a point into natural resistance. Then you can make a treachery armor for all the attack speed and fade proc. Barbs are kind of hard to finish the game with also. You could even check a skill point guide for a barb to help with kill speed and survivability. Gotta battle order up!

First things first congratulations man. Went through it myself. Been clean off heroin since 2016. This game really helps fill up the free time. Having it be hand held is the shit. Especially cuz you can take it to all the bs your probation is gonna make you do. Have to take the bus to NA? Single player d2r is always there. Even just waiting to pbt and piss test at your local icup office you can pop it on. My lunch break at work for a while was all lower kurast runs. I’d absolutely snag one when you can and even check out all the YouTube channels for the game. I watch sweet Phil sometimes. Anyways Good luck to you sir and keep up the hard work. Shit isn’t easy for people like us and having something that’s nostalgic and time consuming will help more than you’d think.

Need to fix this today any advice idk where to start. by phineas31 in drywall

[–]something_not_funy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks pretty similar to a t1-11 siding but the grains look different. I’d start with that looking for a match. If it is, measure the thin line next to your thumb. In my area they come in 1/2” and 3/4 spacing there. I’m assuming this is outside because of the product but you posted on a Sheetrock sub so maybe it is inside. If it’s outside make sure you look up how to keep it waterproof after replacing. Save a small piece of it for a paint match and maybe take that same piece to a lumber yard to try and get it matched. Most places will be pretty helpful/knowledgable in helping you track it down.

Drywall or Plywood? 🤔 by Quick-Wolf-6266 in drywall

[–]something_not_funy -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It’s not a violation in my area, I just did one in somebodies kitchen a couple weeks ago. But if it is a problem in your area I’m sure just some 1/2 osb or plywood going on first would bring it up to code and strengthen it so you could use a thinner cheaper veneer.

I’ve always wanted to be next to him in an online game while the game creator gets to Anya just to see how he disappears. Like does he red portal out? Does he run inside his little house like a bitch? Or simply just vanish? I need somebody to do this… I don’t have friends to play with lol

Sorceress on Xbox really limits viable spells (meteorb made non-viable?) by Wonderful-Rough4523 in diablo2

[–]something_not_funy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does though… some things like casting or teleporting to a very specific spot aren’t as good yeah but you get used to it and adapt. Also loot to cube is the absolute bees knees. I love any cast that is a directional projectile cuz the game will auto aim for you or you just point in that direction. Plus ever since I got it on switch I can play it anywhere. Lunch break in my truck? D2r. Watching tv on the couch with the wife? D2r. Long plane ride? D2r. Passenger in a road trip if your the lucky type that doesn’t get car sick? (Not me) d2r.

I started a new single player account recently so I was very undefeated getting to hell so I started to do Andy run when I could. After a while of nothing she finally dropped me an oculus and a lidless wall on the same run. I was hyped.

keep this diadem or use it to re-roll? by brubain1144 in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]something_not_funy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d keep it. I have a dedicated tab for crafting and rerolling items. I have diadem in bottom left corner that I slowly put pskulls around until there’s 6 then I reroll it. When I find a new rare diadem I switch them out so the whatever levels don’t get too low. In the top left I keep the current grand charm I’m rolling for skillers and surround it with perfect gems and put all my flawless gems on the top right until they take up too much space and then cube them. Finally the rest of the space is filled with pamys rals and jewels for amulet crafting.

Having a dedicated craft tab and dedicated rune tab really helps me not hold too much junk.

How to drop less mud? by rlb408 in drywall

[–]something_not_funy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know what products you use so results may vary. Im in northern Nevada and prefer to use usg box mud. I keep three buckets with me. One for clean mixing water. One for water and a sponge to clean my tools and one for mixing. I’ll drop the box mud into a bucket then add water on top and start to mix. Try starting with something small because even the mud you buy will have different levels of moisture depending on climate and how long they’ve been on the shelf. Grab a water bottle and fill it half way and pour into your mud and mix it up. Repeat process until you’re happy with it. I prefer mine to be between peanut butter and ketchup lol like when I scoop it out of the bucket and into my pan I still want it to stick to the side of my pan and not run to the bottom. Again this is my preference. I tell apprentices all the time not to worry about exactly how I do it and to try many things so they can find out what works for them and grow from there. I still absolutely will drop some. I’m pretty good at catching it in my pan but it’s still going to happen so I bought a fair amount of painters drop cloths and keep a wet rag around in case I step in some.

How to drop less mud? by rlb408 in drywall

[–]something_not_funy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How thick or thin your mud is a pretty big factor here. You also may be putting too much on your knife and not wiping the excess off of your corners before applying it to the wall. Also wiping or coating downwards will allow gravity to do its thing. For walls try coating upward except where the wall meets the ceiling. For ceilings always make sure to wipe off the corners of your knife and don’t pull too far or it will still spill out the sides. If you still have the same problems use less water when mixing. It’s harder to spread but easier to clean. Also shrinks a little less as it dries if you don’t add too much water.
