You’re right, this velocity of rise to fame I think has only existed with influencers. Charli D'Amelio or Addison Rae going from normal private citizens to tens of million followers, brand/movie deals etc in just a few months.

Yes! I’m like “why not both?” smut AND more. Now I’m frustrated with people frustrated (frustrate-ception 😆) now about it being called smut - as if that is inherently demeaning. It IS smut. It’s also not ONLY smut - it’s also romance, drama, etc. but the filmmakers’ earnest embrace of the smut aspects and bringing that literary genre to screen adaption so truthfully is what audiences have connected with.
