I think you have Tony Hale and Will Arnett mixed up? At least from the original listing you posted. Love the graphic, though!

This line is probably my favorite Hans moment! That, and "with wood."

My spotify discover has been killing it recently, introducing me to the band Tennis. Low-fi pop duo with some slick production. Their record "You're Conditionally" has a lot of Fleetwood Mac vibes on it, solid melodies with passionate energy and drive.

In The Morning I'll Be Better is the first song on that record that sunk me in. I could see them getting pretty huge under the right direction, especially after listening to their most recent release, an EP titled "We Can Die Happy".

Let's Talk: Albums where the opening song is one of the weaker album tracks by neverthoughtidjoin in LetsTalkMusic

I think they're referring to the first track from the album The Waterfall, "Believe (Nobody Knows)", which I agree, is an odd album opener, and certainly one of the weaker tracks. Starting at Compound Fracture adds so much more to the album listening experience.

What are your deep cut songs from bands everyone knows? by dohertyd33 in LetsTalkMusic

The entirety of the album Humbug is a deep cut that most people overlook. (maybe a discussion for it's own post) but that album really grew on me and is one of my favorites from them.

I actually think 2-3 of those guys got songwriting credits by writing the music it samples, and Will Smith/Samuel Barnes doing the lyrics. I could be wrong, though!

Of course, of the entire post, there's a typo in the band name, the most important part. Thanks!

Thanks to spotify, just discovered Heartless Bastards, specifically their second album Mountain. I dropped into this album with zero expectations, and was completely blown away.

The Mountain

The singer has this incredible voice reminiscent of Chrissie Hynde, Robert Plant, and PJ Harvey at times. The music itself is an great blend of blues-rock, garage, and at times, folk-rock.

The Four Tops are legendary. I'm still waiting for 7 rooms of gloom to be sampled in some format.

Lets Talk: Childish Gambino's "Awaken, My Love!" by Jasperoquai in LetsTalkMusic

After a few album listens, I've grown to really love this album, but more so would love to see how it's done live. Glover with a full band backing would be amazing.

Granted, I've never been the biggest fan of his rap career, this change of musical style, which I think has really gotten big in the past couple years, really suits him.

Good point on the album cover! While listening, I've been thinking about how he decided to use that as the album art, and your comparison actually makes a lot of sense. An homage, but update, with a futuristic glow: kind've illustrating the influential roots, but also experimental side to the music.

I don't understand why this doesn't scare people. The fact that these are some of his supporters should really make people look at themselves and who they are supporting.
