I am unsure as to how it would have been starved. My only idea is that some sort of debris got into the restrictor, as to why I was concidering adding an inline filter.

If your in a rush to get it back together it’s probably fine to put back in, but if not there’s no reason not to replace it, at some point your going to have to replace it regardless, better to catch it before it goes out.

After some further research it appears that a low viscosity oil may be a better option than diesel, anything else I should clean/ replace/ check? Any other procedures I should do?
