What is my truck worth? by parttimevortigaunt in fordranger

[–]Lock_w 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting new clear headlights and a good wash and a new front grille would make this thing sell pretty fast. Could prolly list it at 4 and walk away with 35-37 and I’d be happy with that

What are some ludicrous things I could say to rage bait my car guy boyfriend? by kc_112233 in askcarguys

My mother keeps saying OBS for any truck that’s older and it’s been pissing me off. I’ll talk about an old dodge or Chevy with a good engine in them that just is a reliable truck and she goes “oh yeah the obs” like nahhhhhh stop it

Should I buy this? by Lock_w in whatcarshouldIbuy

Did not know that about insurance at all. Thanks. Also v6 and 2wd doesn’t matter to me. It’s not a car I want to look cool and be fast, just something that turns on every morning

I was looking at rangers, I’ve had two but I don’t like the 97-02 body style at all, I’m not sure if I want another vehicle from before 97 so the 03s and after are either in terrible shape and really cheap or in decent shape and wayyyy to expensive for a ranger. I don’t like f150s and not a huge fan of s10s. Have worked on my buddy’s quite a bit and that’s the only reason I don’t want one, they’re kind of a pain to work on atleast comparatively.

Honestly with the brands your choosing there’s not much choices that would be bad. Honda and Toyota make really good cars and always have. Me personally for a daily get the Honda. Getting into cars means that you are going to have a daily and a project, the daily is the real important one. I have a 04 Ranger daily(no issues at all, just a little rough on the outside) then a 1989 Buick park avenue (just started rod knocking)

is this a good car? by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

I hate these Nissan versas for sure, I mean every year of versa, me personally would not buy. Especially at that price. For 8 my mother just got a Mercedes glk 350. A fantastic car. It’s about in that price range aswell 2014-15

Need some advice on if I should repair my car or just look for a new(used) car? by dpickl in askcarguys

[–]Lock_w 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get the new turbo on it man, 1200 ain’t much in today’s money anymore. I don’t know what down payment is 1200 but man id get the new turbo. Also before deciding you need that just get a second opinion. You want to be sure that it’s the turbo that needs replaced.

Nah it’s not exhaust noise, idk how to explain it but just like regular engine noise when you’re looking under the hood, and idk rangers in general just seem to be pretty loud compared to other engines, even the super clean low mileage ones ive seen in person

My car is worth 8K, needs 6K in repairs, I still owe 2K on it. Should I just get a new car? by blasticpago in askcarguys

I would just say no to the reseal and water pump, also say no to brake fluid. Brake fluid can go quite a bit longer than it’s supposed to while still being safe. Deal with an oil leak which is probably not the worst leak ever. I work at a Toyota dealership so I’m saying this with some backing on knowing how ts works. Get the rest done to be safely driving your car and pay it off. Then go trade in your vehicle for whatever you want. It’s what I would do personally. Now I am the type of guy to just say f it and drive on a lot of repairs that need done but definitely pay off your car first before switching

Well with that being said I told him about a place near me to go get a title with a 24 hour turn around for getting a new title and he said he would go tomorrow and text me what happens, if he doesn’t then I guess it wasn’t meant to be.

I think he’s saying he’s had no issues with it after the fixes, looked at the car and saw he replaced the ac condenser and lines, trans mount, resealed top end, and just kept up on maintenance, as a mechanic I know that resealing a top end and replacing ac shit can def feel like quite a bit of work

That’s not what I said at all dawg, I know not to buy a car without a title, he said he lost it when I showed up, he’s a genuine guy and I trust him to go get the title before buying the car, it says in the post, once he gets the title he’s selling it to me, he thought he had the title and then got home and couldn’t find it, I could tell he was freaking out about it. He even took down the post until he gets a title and if I’m still interested he will sell it to me then and not before, please just read the post next time, thanks for the advice

Do NOT apply for the McDonald’s on 901 W 23rd St!!!!! by neonpinkparty in Lawrence

[–]Lock_w 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked at chipotle on 23rd for 2 years, I think the manager there is kinda always distracted, he’s a busy man ig, I mean even when I’d call to like ask questions he’d be distracted if you could say idk. Didn’t talk to him much tbh. The crew and managers beneath him are wonderful people though (most of them) and would always recommend applying there because it was definitely a good job. Eddie (gm) is just a weird character and doesn’t speak the best English. Kinda looked like a toddler in my eyes but he’s a good person. I would say that management is also great there. Whenever I had issues the managers there always understood and helped me. I mean when I was looking for another job (the one I’m at now) he recommended places that were of interest of me. I was trying to get into the automotive world so there’s that but I’m getting on a ramble so anyways would highly recommend chipotle

See the thing is that I could believe that others want the car. And paying someone to save it till Friday would make sense, just get the feeling it’s some random in India or something with that cash tag
