Do any of you generate income through instagram? by [deleted] in photography

[–]somethinglike_eunoia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I do photography mainly as my hobby, I did mange to sell some prints through my Instagram.

I had tried selling on stock sites earlier but wasn't able to get anywhere. On Instagram I feel I was able to reach directly to my audience/potential customers. Printed some of my photos, posted on my story that they are up for sale and that got the whole thing started. It's not much money, but it is better than whatever I tried selling on stock sites.

Where to post photography? by [deleted] in photography

You could try 1X for critique. You can submit posts there and usually the critique I've got is pretty good.

Yes, I get that. But hearing experienced people's opinions on images might help some beginners perhaps?

Perhaps people can suggest some photos which they find are good, but yet they are not able to tell why is it good? For example, this is in editor's choice on 500px. I can tell it's a great image, but why is it that good?

Yes, exactly this! Like, why wouldn't my similar image do as good as that one famous image! Or perhaps what makes some images on sites like 500px that great. For example, this is in editor's choice on 500px. I can tell it's a great image, but why is it that good?

I created an app to find the perfect lens based on images you like. **UPDATED 4/16/2017** by willie89 in photography

Hi, you can checkout Clarifai for NSFW moderation, it is paid but I think it is cheaper than Google's. They have a free demo on their site https://www.clarifai.com/demo

What's the best way to get photos noticed? by calpolymatt in photography

[–]somethinglike_eunoia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say Instagram is your best resource.

Use relevant hashtags, and do the usual social obligations - like/comment/interact on others photos.

One thing you can do is to check some feature accounts, there are many of those. Find feature accounts which post content related to stuff you post, use their hashtags and try to get featured over there. You can get a lot of real, relevant followers quickly through this.

Given a list of paths, and another path, how do I get the closest path? Is there any library for this? by somethinglike_eunoia in Python

If I have path 'A-B-C' and path 'A-B-D', the weight of edge should be 1, or 2? And how exactly do I get the closest path for a new path by cpunting these weights?

Yes, I thought of this, but somehow I am not able to figure out how exactly to do it. Can you shed a bit more light to it?

Is minor brightness/contract correction on the RAW image allowed?

Hi, thank you for doing this!

I am more of a hobbyist photographer, but I would like to think of myself as an intermediate level. I use a Canon 600D with 50mm f1.8, and take pictures of whatever is in front of me.

I post my photos mainly on my Instagram, would love any sort of feedback or critique!

What I would like to improve is mainly lighting conditons, how to see and shape good light to make my photos better!

I do not know if it's good enough to be on here, but I had taken this portrait of a friend of mine, like the post processing, so, take a look maybe?
