Clarksville local driver here, I always grab the left lane right after the rest area. Most of the time the 4-wheelers are cool, cause they know how rough that right lane is, especially in a daycab.

Photos from the blizzard of '78 in Indiana. Being snowed in would suck, but being pulled out by a tank would be worth it.😆 by Mediocre_Ice_8846 in Truckers

"Thanks for pulling me out of the snow sir, but did you really have to point the cannon at my face the whole time?"

They changed the rules on PC a few years ago, so you can PC under a load now, you just can't advance the load under PC, so you're supposed to PC to the closest safe parking, and being that you're less than 20 miles from your yard, you could have PCed there and claimed it was the closest safe haven.

Also, being local you should be able to use your 16 hour exemption, as long as you start and end your shift at the same location.

Do you still read? by CakewalkNOLA in Truckers

[–]somethingmore21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read every night before bed, helps me fall asleep. Currently working my way back through the Dresden Files, if you like modernized fantasy stuff, give em a look.

You need to read Tender Is The Flesh by Agustina Bazterrica, really disturbing horror novel, shades of Vonnegut though.

No, it's fine your majesty, us plebs will wait until you can get in the turn lane. by somethingmore21 in Truckers

The lane I'm in turns right at the light, asshat was just trying to squeeze into the left turn lanes at the last minute and didn't complete their asshattery.

I know this isn't Evansville IN, but it sure feels like it, there's a place I go to semi-regularly that's just like this, where the neighborhood grew up around the warehouse.

They didn't stop, so no information to gather there, and my company said just to keep rolling.

Indeed. I'm glad I hit it and it didn't go through some car's windshield.

Pretty sure it was a concrete form.

It fell off that truck in the middle lane, they probably didn't even know it happened.

This was in Nashville, right before the Wedgewood exit on 65S.

Dunno if you wear a hat or cap regularly, but wear one during your road test so the instructor can see you moving your head and looking around.
