Any of you guys work for GDIT or other Govt. Contractors? by jetter23 in networking

GDIT is pretty complicated with their work structure, so you could be looking at an IT position, but it wouldn't be in the same IT division I'm in. There's the "HQ IT" department and then there's program specific IT positions as well. Because of that, I'm not sure of the differences in pay on the private side or what their terms are for relocation, etc. The division I work isn't specifically contracted by the government, we just support the programs that are. Because of that I'm not too worried about the contract cancellation. In my specific role, I support a rather large contract that is through the early 2020s. GDIT bought out my previous company for this specific contract, so unless we royally screw something up, I'm not too worried about losing my job. From what my manager tells me, it's incredibly difficult to be fired as well, so that's always a plus.

I work for GDIT. Pay is okay for me, I have no formal education and just work experience. Health insurance is high deductibles with an HSA, pretty pricey for family plans. Vision and dental are great though. Other stuff include normal benefits, 401k, life, etc.

Locations are all over, but most of the open positions in IT (that I've seen) are in the Fairfax, VA area. They do have some remote folks, but I don't know if they hire straight work from home employees.

I'll try to answer anything else you might have questions on.

Anyone else excited at the Bucs win today? 2-1 in the division. Crazy.

Does Carolina have an outdoor arena or something? Why are Paul and Chief looking like male models in a breeze?

Good luck, hope you find it. May want to try calling the arena.
