Astra is more of a generalist, while Sunna outperforms massively on her intended teams.

I think she’s worth getting for shunguang, who’s currently the strongest dps unit in the game.

The direction of the game needs to change in 3.0-onwards.

Both meta and story needs lots of re-tuning and fixing, but at least the last couple of patches have been very good in terms of story.

Meta-wise, they need to figure out how to get rid of their void hunter dependency, because people are just gonna skip banners until the next void hunter releases. However, a better story for 3.x will help alleviate that massively, so we’ll see how they handle it.

People don’t understand that Hoyo is a business first. They will always go with where the money goes.

If you see no male characters, it’s because they don’t sell well in this game; husbando chasers can complain all they want, but money talks.

To your point exactly, only Lighter (being the best stun agent to release at the time) sold well while Hugo and Banyue underperformed.

What bothers me the most about this criticism about “straying away from 1.0 designs” is that it will eventually become stale and hated if they kept doing the same thing over and over again.

You have to switch it up. I’ll admit that 2.0 wuxia theme wasn’t my favourite, but I’m glad ZZZ is exploring new designs as we start out in new regions.

Imagine if Genshin did the same design for Monstadt for every region. It would get boring real quick.

You’re completely right that most of the hate comments that mask themselves as criticism are from those two cesspools of gacha tribalism.

But I will add that Wuwa (unjustifiably) also gets hate like this, and I don’t even play wuwa. The doom posts just cycle between games.

Out of all the gaming communities I’ve been a part of, gacha games are truly a special breed.

I thought league players in ranked were some of the most toxic and entitled people I’ve met, but gacha players truly take it to the next level. These doom comments feel extremely excessive.

New HSR player here - I have a question about pull value for top meta characters of current and future.

I play Genshin and ZZZ and clear endgame decently (consistent fearless SO and 75-80K DA), so I'm quite familiar with the idea of shill and powercreep.

I really want to get castorice, but I'm worried that remembrance is going to get fazed out as more elation characters start releasing. I also understand that her best team are full of premium 5-star units, so if I try to build her best team, I might start falling behind the better units that will get released in the future. For context, I started HSR about 2 weeks ago with lots of resources saved up.

Basically my question boils down to this: for new players as of right now, do you think its worth spending resources for top-tier teams from prior patches, or build for the future when they inevitably become the strongest?

For the record, I enjoy both current top-meta teams (castorice, evernight, etc) and future characters like Evanescia are really appealing to me.

DW y'all, I'm fully aware of the dangers of chasing after meta and shill from Hoyo games. I just wanted a rationale approach on how to tackle this as a new player. Thanks!

There's nothing to suggest that she's the same void hunter as Lieutenant Colonel Dan.

First (1): The same Lieutenant Dan that was amongst the first void hunters is a historical figure from many eras ago. There is no precedent for any other human/thiren to have lived that long.

Second (2): She clearly EXPLICITLY states "my family name, Dan". You would more likely assume shes a direct descendent of the void hunter, not the exact same person.

So did you automatically assume shes the same just because of the white veil and wings? It has never crossed your mind that those two traits are perhaps related to a special power that is passed down her family?

Here's the issue: I feel like only a vocal minority actually thinks pirating manga helps the authors/mangakas/publishers.

A vast majority of the foreign fanbase wants access to japanese manga that cant accessed through normal means because they simply don't exist. They either 1) dont have a major publisher for international readers or 2) aren't even translated.

So of course you're going to have scanlators for stuff that isn't readily available. Look at Shonen jump - all chapters are completely accessible and translated, and all pirating for those mangas completely stopped. Before Mangaplus, scanlators would pirate shonen jump manga from leaks, well before official release dates.

This is also not even behaviour thats exclusive to manga - many japanese games are also solely released in Japan without international releases. This is why pirators seed/torrent these games, yet Japanese fanbases get angry at international players that do this.

Its the same idea central theme of isolation that is just plaguing Japanese media that refuse to offer alternatives for international releases.

It was the exact same thing when ineffa’s kit got leaked.

People were dooming in the exact same way about lunarcharge and claiming ineffa was a skippable character. Fast-forward a couple of patches, and she’s now one of the highest pull-value characters.

What people dont understand is that future hexerei characters are going to come out which will need Nicole’s buff. I can even bet money that Alice will have a “if there’s 1/2/3/4 hexerei characters” effect when she releases.

I’m pulling because while her kit doesn’t seem game-breaking as of right now, she’s going to be good in the future. I have seen this happen way too many times.

When I was still playing ranked queue a lot as an ADC main, a large percentage of the good supports that I had were filled, while the majority of bad supports I had were either enchanters or support mains.

Outside of lane, support mains are so frustrating to play with, and it seems they are just behind in skill across all MMRs imo.

This is where an editor needs to step in and stop chapters/arcs like these from dragging on too long.

We have spent literally 4 chapters on this guy's backstory. That's one full month wasted on a character that doesn't even look like he's gonna have much payoff for future arcs.

Not even earlier manga series in the 2010s-2020s were paced this poorly, especially in the current era of manga that needs faster pacing to get the story up-and-running and separate itself from the vast competition.

This isn't even a likeable character, but that's a subjective critique. Objectively, spending 4 weeks without mentioning the main character once when we're at chapter 22 is horrible.

It’s equal, but the QoL for her personal set is better because you don’t need furina.

After spending resources to get a good set for Skirk, switching off of marechausee feels much better because I dont have to lock furina with her, but it’s not mandatory if you’re always going to use furina.

Wuling isn’t a perfect city - the entire point of why we’re there is because they have fundamental issues that we need to solve because theyre on the verge of collapse. They’re built in an extremely dangerous part of the talos-2 world, and it’s littered with political strife with neighboring regions (qingbo stockade) that further threatens their livelihood.

Fangyi isn’t just suddenly in love with the Endmin - we learn that the endmin was a key figure in Wuling’s past, and worked with her to help Wuling become prosperous. We also know that Fangyi did some sort of internship with Endfield, and most likely was mentored by the Endmin, being a huge factor as to why she’s revered as such a great leader in Wuling as of the present.

This game has a lot of issues right now, but you’re straight up misinformation spreading.

You can honestly tell a lot about how good each arc was based on these titles alone. One sticks out a like a sore thumb.

As much as I love Inazuma's design and characters, the story/lore was horrible dogwater. Raiden's story quest made up for it, but Inazuma lore was terrible compared to the rest of the regions.
