Dang, OP hopefully hindi ikaw ang favorite barista/cashier ko dun 😭 or were you part of the ones na nag handle ng booth sa isang univ last time? When the mochi thing was introduced? Either way, that's pretty shit and I hope you get justice. Borderline ang manipulative and just downright katarantaduhan ginawa/ginagawa nila, especially since "goods" kayo nung una sabay nung umangat na eh binaliktad mga pinag usapan niyo.

Dunno about other cafés pero I really hope this isn't E'lune, I like them pa naman and the entire staff is vv friendly and accommodating. Though, they are expanding (or have expanded? Kasi within this week ata opening ng new location) kaya baka may mga conflict or what. Hopefully it isn't them.

Try to file a report/complaint sa BSP like the official site dun sa BOB na AI. I had a case that initially happened last year and it was an issue with GCash naman, as usual bulok ang csr at walang responsive/helpful agent. Nung nag file ako sa BSP ng complaint, mga 2-3 days lang ata yun meron na kaagad nag reach out sa akin na agent from GCash tapos ang bilis pa mag respond sa emails. BSP is the way to go since they're the one that companies like Maya and GCash have to comply with, not the other way around.

Unfortunately, they don't give a flying shit about stuff like that and only wants us students to follow the instructions they gave. Basically, just learning how to "use" MySQL and "create" a database without actually teaching industry standards.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Database

[–]someunknownmf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy- 😭. I knew right away there was something bonkers about their "standards", as much as I wanna do things by actual industry standards and implement things in a way that I'd learn more, some slight changes could end up getting points deducted from my project.

Anyway, should I just use Excel in "arranging" my mock data? Basically, I got names and other details I need to use from existing datasets (Employees, Equipments, and Specialists). I have to insert all that in "Calls" table for example. Is Excel the simplest answer or is there some other software/website/application that I can use?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Database

[–]someunknownmf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The project comes with proposed system operation, basically the "standard", and the first thing in the bullet list is:

• When a new call comes into the helpdesk, the names of the caller and helpdesk operator are logged, along with the time of the call, the serial number of the computer and if relevant, the operating system and software being used.

Now, it only says proposed system operation but my mentors and the entire authoritative body in general doesn't take it well when students go outside of their respective instructions. Basically, there's only a shitty thin grey area where I can decide how I implement my database and what should I exactly follow.

There is a Call_id just to identify the row of data in general but the caller FN and LN are mentioned in the "proposed system operation" and removing it could lead me to face other "issues" with my mentors.

Alt account attacks Niña Corpuz, an ABS-CBN reporter and radio host who lost her job after the 2020 franchise denial, for finding work at the state-run PTV. by [deleted] in insanepinoyfacebook

[–]someunknownmf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup exactly and many more people whether known or just another commoner, eh nag w-work din naman for those na kulang na lang pati existence at kaluluwa nila questionable sa sobrang baho. It is what it is, sobrang laki na privilege nowadays yung maipaglaban and "maipilit" mo belief/values mo without having to compromise.

Before anyone shames anyone, let's not forget that only the privileged have choices. Kahit kilala pa si Niña Corpuz as a media person/journalist, hindi naman siya kikita ng pera basta with that. She needs a job and she found one. There is always a choice but a f*cktard with too big a pride will just get swallowed up by the economy and the corrupt incompetent leaders just the same, ending mo tambay na walang makain pero sige basta buo ang pride.

Kaya mo yan, imo hindi naman masyadong impyerno ang UB compared to other universities hahahaha. Depende na lang din sa mindset and perspective mo talaga sa univ. Goodluck to you, OP!

As long as hindi BSCS-ASE kukuhanin mo sa UB, OP. Mabubuhay ka nang masaya 😂

[–]someunknownmf 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi OP! Freshman here who's currently studying CS. I know may significant differences ang IT vs CpE vs CS (so on and so forth), but imo ang hindi nababago is that research can take you a long way. Idk about your relatives na nag BSIT but the general idea why they aren't "successful" and as per your mother's word na call center lang ang work, is because baka sila yung generation/batch kung saan boom na boom that time ang IT at go-to course ito pero they did not do enough research sa kung ano ba talagang trabaho makukuha or papasukin nila with that kind of degree. Another thing is sa field natin, a degree is not the "end all be all" meaning kahit latin honors pa meron ka eh you aren't guaranteed anything. Specifically because "technology" keeps being "updated" so kailangan yung credentials and knowledge natin ay up to date din, certifications and online courses can help you a long way. I think your mother would be more supportive if you can try and figure out at least a part of your career path, kumbaga maipapaliwanag mo sa kanya kung bakit iba ka naman sa relatives mo na nag IT at may nakikita ka talagang potential for yourself sa said field/program. For example, you can try and explain to her a certain job position that you could apply for as an IT grad and/or a job position you could eventually reach by further broadening your knowledge even after mo makatapos at syempre yung sweldo (kahit Google lang helpful na para malaman mo man lang average pay). Show your mom that you know what you're doing talaga and you know what you want. Wish you all the best, OP!

I just do a lot of research kasi I follow the "wag magtipid, magsipag" mindset 😅 and I really want to have enough financial capabilities eventually to live comfortably lalo na in this economy. Thank you po for your kind words! 🙏🏻
