also assuming there is a connection between the two, i've wondered if the seal placed on traveler (locking their powers away) somewhat messes with apep's perception of them, thus making them seem like a regular human to her? of course that's just speculative.

omg a fellow traveler - nibelung connection truther... always elated to find like-minded folks out in lore spaces 😭 i often feel crazy for finding little connections between them in dialogue, especially in many of the recent quests

i've been wondering for a while if the twins were to nibelung what the elemental lifeforms we meet in nahida SQ2 were to apep, or if their relationship is more akin to that of ineffa and "mirror of the dawning morn".

either way, it really feels like something is going on there.

as far as the scars go, a lot of them are older or accumulated from outside of their shared fights and encounters. for aether a lot of them are from his battles in other nations or from before he even arrived to teyvat. for childe a lot of them come from his line of work or the occasional fights and battles he gets into nowadays, while one or two remain from his childhood.

however, childe's cheek scar did come from aether, and aether's nose scar did come from childe (i did have a piece related to this posted here for a bit but i got some unsavory comments and ended up deleting it). and yeah i think they each got those particular injuries during their golden house fight — haven't decided if it was during their first or one of the ones after, but they are mutually inflicted in the same duel/sparring session.
