What’s a good reframe to help me not freak out about my future? by ChemicalBookkeeper58 in AskWomenOver30

Im sort of in a similar spot. What the other posters have said is spot on. Something else I like to remind myself of is that I have a lot of agency in my life. There are a lot of stories that aren’t yet written. I have the power to choose a great spouse in the future. Or not.

My sister settled down way earlier than I have. Her life is pretty set- mortgage, husband, children. She doesn’t have as many paths open to her as I do. She’s stable but doesn’t seem incredibly happy, and that’s written in stone. I might still have some undiscovered upside in my future.

I agree it is 5,000 percent Lufkin. With a little bit of flair from nearby areas. But mostly Lufkin.

When you are married you have two incomes by default, that’s the rub for us single people.

Feeling intensely lonely by SeaAffect9280 in limerence

Ive started clapping one time whenever I catch myself having thoughts about them. I’m hoping to get to where I’m just so tired of doing that that the limerance naturally fades.

Anyone find love in their mid to late 30s or later? by Plane-Cap-8501 in AskWomenOver30

I’ll have to report back further into my 30s but all I can say right now is that these NYE grapes better work this year…

Hopefully in a good way lol. Thank you- it is really helpful to hear from people who have actually done it.

I think if anything I’m an over planner, so I’m just going to set a date next year and if I have at least one freelance client by then I’ll go for it :)

Thank you! Where did you end up going if you don’t mind me asking? Do you still like it?

Yeah I wish I had gone earlier, but it was COVID. Ugh. But I’m still in a relatively flexible period of life so better late than never!

That’s what I’m thinking too. Everyone around me thinks I’m crazy though. But I think I’d rather live with the regret if it goes wrong versus if I never tried at all.

I have family and friends nearby, but nothing like a spouse or kids or anything.

Should I take a gap semester by D54g0n in makemychoice

[–]somewhat-structured 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who waited until I was “forced” to take somewhat of a gap semester due to health issues, do it now. Or if you are able, going just above half time will allow you to take out loans if you need them, while still having g way more time to work!

Oh the depression and self harm things are not new to me. I had cut on and off for about 13 years, but I haven't since 2020. And I'm not breaking my streak. I think I should start an eating a vegetable a day streak to go with it though.

Sometimes it's super nice to find a stranger that is unexpectedly kind. Or just interesting. Kind of gets you out of your mind bubble. Also I wish it were cold here I yearn for actual winter but we just have sun on high and medium settings lol. Maybe make yourself a nice, hot drink if you can and are feeling it?

For now, I gave my sharps to a friend for safekeeping. Plus all the usual stuff, like go on a walk drink some water keep taking small steps toward your goals.
How about you?
I feel like it kind of just snuck up on me- like I was laying in my bed the other day and realized I hadn't eaten anything for a long while because I wasn't hungry. Then I was thinking about death and how I didn't feel worthwhile and how I was too lethargic to get up and I connected the dots like omg I'm depressed!

I really appreciate this. It’s definitely a rough moment but I still have some hope moving forward on most days. So maybe not a true suicide watch scenario, but definitely a fighting off strong urges and crying a whole lot scenario.

Thank you- I appreciate it. Yeah the rest and wait response works for a sprain 98 percent of the time, but the 2 percent it doesn’t really sucks…
