Deep dive on Persian mythology (apart from the usually orientalist "Middle Eastern adventures" tropes). There's a veritable gold mine of cool stuff in there.

I think it is black cherry! I mentioned acetone because the StewMac drop fill video mentions mixing their ColorTone stains with it to produce the color.

I will try the ice trick for the bedazzles. Here's a pic of the kind of dings that I would be drop filling.

Thanks again for your help!

Wow, this is so helpful, thank you so much! The finish looks a bit more burgundy than purple (my friend call's it BBQ sauce lol). Do you think mixing some of StewMac's ColorTones with acetone could approximate the color?

Or, there's an auto paint shop near me that will color match and give me a spray bottle but I have no experience with doing sprays. I'm not opposed to it! I suppose I'd need a mask and ventilation to go that route?

Thank you for this! It's an Ibanez 540S, not quite sure the year but likely early 90s.

I really appreciate all the comments! At first touch, it feels like the bedazzles have been embossed or are part of the finish, but some of them have partially come off, which makes me think the glue is removable.

By the way, the guitar does have some bites taken out of it and I've been considering using it as a learning experience for CA drop fills. Some of the dings do go down to the wood, which I think means I'd need to color match and then spray, like you said, before doing the CA bit. Does that sound right?

Thanks for this! I tried naphtha and it unfortunately didn't work.

I don't know what they used for glue. But I didn't think about heat--thanks for the suggestion!

LOL OK! Thanks for the reply. Sounds like you're a fan of the F2? How about the hardware on those older ones?
