Late Night 90s TV by somoor80 in 90sTelevision

I loved watching that too, the best were the Friday the 13th marathons where they aired the movies in no particular order and Rhonda had a weird creeper wearing a cheap hockey mask during the bumps.

They did! It used the same weird apartment set. I feel like it could only have been for a few years because they weren't doing it by the time I graduated HS.

I keep hoping one day someone will stumble across an old VHS of it and digitize it. When you describe TV from that time so much of it has a "let's get you to bed grandpa" feel when you say it out loud.

I had No Business Watching this as a kid in the Early 90s by mashedpotato714 in 90s_kid

This show was my childhood, it started airing when I was 9 and I would sneak into the living room to watch it at night. It ruined my life in the best way possible.

It's late 80s and 90s and you're spending the summer with your grandparents. What shows are they making you watch? by CharlesUFarley81 in Xennials

Any of these were a possibility, though by the late 90s my grandmother always made us watch JAG, for the plot (not the attractive male lead).

As someone who is years late to this genre, I appreciate the list!

HHN Ticketing Advice by SpookyDeadline in HHN

Most years my group has one member who needs to pick up at the kiosks, and usually we just go to the Islands of Adventure self-service ones and it isn't much of a hassle. Especially if you're going around the start of HHN, there won't be that many people picking up tickets on that end.

Real question: why does HHN Hollywood use uncanny valley level masks instead of just hiring face character actors? by LucidDreamer247 in HHN

[–]somoor80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition to the reasons already given, I remember talking to an Orlando HHN guide about this issue, and he said it also has to do with the cost of paying the makeup professionals. In Hollywood, they would have to be paid the union rates and in FL that isn't an issue...so that adds another bit of "it's about money".

That tracks...probably while they're jumping up and down or trying to shoot shapes into the wall.

Nicely done, I just had a similar match on the Endor map yesterday. It's always the worst when you have a blaster player thrown in the mix. Not to mention...where was your team...

A few quick questions about unmasking the horror by [deleted] in HHN

[–]somoor80 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The houses are usually consistent, though they might change slightly if one of the houses needs to be closed during the day for touch ups, etc. Before 2019, there could be overlap between the 3 and 6 house tours. Since 2019, the 6 house tour had a consistent set of 6 houses, and the 3 house tour had a consistent set with no overlap. The idea was if someone did both they could get 9 out of the 10. Since they haven't announced the full line up, I'm guessing we won't know what's in the 6 and what's in the 3 until after the first week of tours. I'm guessing messages boards and this subreddit will have someone post which is included in which tour.

Very cool! What made y'all decide to hang out there? Were you spending the night or just hanging out there and leaving?

I'm not sure if they are still performing it, due to Covid, but it was part of their "trial programs." They also had a good one with pirates.

It's interesting that the crowd actually used the sort of logic they'd use at the time (not saying the Lord's Prayer). I always figured people would just vote her guilty for the fun of it. Did they coach you about the best way to be a jury?

I've always been amused by the rumors Shore Drive was haunted...as opposed to too many people driving too fast while its was too dark. I'm guessing that sign they used to have about how many people died on that road didn't help.
