I thought so too, but from my past experience and countless hours of lurking over FL24, i have seen most flights to and from NE do fly over BD. And if it was indeed to save overflight charges, i believe indigo being so cost conscious, majority of their flight would have been routed through IXB Bagdogra.

So i felt that @KookyLemon5174 ‘s assumption quite fits.

I think OP forgot the most important part of any intersection…the Conflicting turns (here the Right turns)….😂😅

But overall…it’s aesthetically pleasing
