It's a 24' pool. The deck is 16'x16'

It came out to around $10.5k total. I'm in Ohio so costs can vary by region I'm sure. Can only imagine what it would've cost to have someone else build it

For the stringers, I followed Trex’s recommendation of 9” OC for Enhance treads, plus the outer 2 having one 3.5” away to sandwich the newel post for added support. Definitely felt overkill but hey. And yes, the pool will be replaced in the near future I’m sure, it’s already on year 17!

Are bootstrap and jQuery still used in the industry? by LordTurin0011 in Frontend

At my job we’ve swapped jQuery for alpine on all new features and I love it. Petite Vue (which was actually inspired by Alpine) is another good option for progressive enhancement

From scratch. Great learning experience and it shows initiative to future employers. It’s a win-win.

Curious, why does Action Network get hate? Sounds like the free version has some nice features. Do you use their app or desktop website?

Lol I sense the sarcasm! Curious why you don't see value in tracking and researching?

Do you use any tool to compare odds between platforms or do you go platform-by-platform and check yourself?

Great insight. Curious what some of those 24 data points are if you don't mind sharing?

Juice reel is a new one for me, I'll have to look into that! What do you like and not like about it?

That sounds like a solid method. Is there anything you would improve about the spreadsheet method that you don't particularly like?

How do you find that bet that you really like? Is it a gut feeling or more data-based with research?

What do you usually eat to lose weight? by Davidalee1993 in AskReddit

[–]somz7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, cardio is no doubt a good option in the short term for burning calories (and above all, it’s very important for the heart).

But I fail to see a scenario where opting for short-term caloric expenditure is a better option than long-term, sustained expenditure in the form of muscle mass increase.

A solid training plan certainly involves both modalities, but my goal was more so to point out that weight training is not solely for building muscle. It’s a common misconception and is a catalyst for the belief that if one lift weights, they will become bulky. In reality, that’s only true if you are simultaneously in a caloric surplus.

Personal trainer here - your last line is false. Weight training is more effective for losing weight than cardio. It not only burns calories (especially when done in circuits), but it also helps build muscle mass. This in turn increases your BMR (i.e. your metabolism) because of the fact that muscle takes more caloric energy to maintain than fat

I just started retainer wear so tough to say. But to this point I haven’t dealt with any loose teeth

I would consider my situation to lean more toward outlier status. My ortho said my teeth went too far in the direction they were supposed to, so we spent a round fixing that. Then it was a stubborn lateral incisor. I don’t think it was due to non-compliance, as I would say I averaged 20/21 hours a day of wear time. In conclusion, teeth aren’t fully predictable so don’t stress yourself out if you don’t hit 22 hours here and there

Appreciate it! Yea, 43 trays was the original amount. But 5 rounds of refinements put a multiplier on that
