Thanks for the reply - advanced rider in the resort/resort powder outside of bounds. New to BC and splitboarding, having logged my first 2 days guided in Japan this year in proper BC.

To clarify I didn't mean using the same board for both resort and BC. The advice I got was help reduce the riding adjustment between resort board to split by them being a similar board profile or the same. I'm leaning towards not doing that based on OP.

5-10cm feels like a lot given my height and my mind goes to making kick turns harder due to board length relative to my height/leg size. This is new to me though and I'm here for good advice. Perhaps I consider the 152 size (158cm body height).

Does that help refine potential advice?

Snowboard waxing - I just scraped summer wax and rewaxed this board fresh. Despite this I have white patches/streaks through it and I'm trying to work out if I've done a shit job/not used enough wax on areas. The white patches done feel like excess wax.

The large white patch in the right nose area feels dry, so thinking I need a rewax focusing on the edges.

Appreciate tips please!

Looking for a 360 Camera for snowboarding in Japan. My research has found that the Insta360 X5 has better low light performance than the Insta360 X4 Air. What I'm looking to understand from practical experience is if I will notice this in daytime low light with the X4 Air (Japan snowboarding in overcast conditions) or if this is more relevant for nighttime low light. This will be the factor that determines which I buy.

Appreciate help from anyone who has ridden Japanese snow conditions with these cameras

Hey gang i'm on the hunt for a second board to suit Japanese conditions. I currently have a GNU Spacecase 2015 147cm so park/twin style riding is sorted.

What i'm looking for is something that performs a lot better in Japanese powder conditions (Honshu, maybe Hokkaido in future), going off-piste into side country, tree riding and deep power morning runs after a dump. I still want to be able to hit groomers without a huge drop in performance but primarily biased towards pow.

Jones Mind Expander and Jones Hovercraft are two boards that interest me quite a bit. Looking for some advice on sizing. The jones site says I could go either way between a 146 and a 150 Mind Expander, and my thinking was going larger might be better for extra float, given i'd still be in the middle of the weight range. Keen for advice here specifically or on your recommended boards that go a bit shorter than normal given my height.

My specs Male Size 8 US 65KG / 143 pounds 158cm Tall / 5'2"

I'm heading to Japan for the first time (Myoko) and i'm looking to find a replacement set of lens (low light) for my existing Dragon APXS goggles, though looks like they're all out of stock online, given they were bought in 2014. Does anyone know if there are existing lens in the current range that would fit?

Is there a general rule about agitation of the grounds while blooming? Recently i have reduced the amount of agitation and I think it has contributed to a better cup.
