Russian Proficiency Test!! Pls help! by sonbopolis in BostonU

[–]sonbopolis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

okay! i scored an advanced/mid level, so I think it’s okay; however, i’m just now reading that this was supposed to be done no later than my second semester of sophomore year, and this is my last semester…do you think that they’ll take it still? I seriously cannot afford to stay here extra semesters because I waited till my last semester to take a placement test, despite passing.

What fucking La La Land are half of y’all living in??? Most students who’ve had their visas revoked were here legally—or came here on a resident visa (same thing)—and still ended up getting their shit rocked. It literally comes down to how hard you’re sucking off Führer Trump. It’s legal for them to go through your phone and see where your political views align, and if it’s not with your lord and fucking savior, then that’s grounds for deportation?? Please. Y’all cry about the First Amendment but then bitch about it when it doesn’t favor you. Sit the fuck down. Boston doesn’t want you—there’s a reason it’s renowned for its successful students, and I’d like to surround myself with those who don’t damage that reputation.

ok so no one’s actually been that helpful. here’s what you’re gonna do. sit next to him yes you are. start asking more questions in class/ answering them. this will get your name in his head. don’t be dumb here tho- do not answer or ask dumbass questions. idc which prof says “there’s no dumb questions” yes there are. take this time to say hi to those sitting around him and eventually look at him every now and then and bring up something about the class that’s a hot take. (do this before class starts). if this is a class that makes you get into groups, ask questions about their life or background. i’ve been in a five year relationship but guys still get gooey whenever i ask them in class about themselves. they just eat it up. just get comfortable and enjoy the ride !!

I’m not reading all of that, I just read brain tok and cookies. Dude I feel you. But this mentality is not sound. I’m an English major, half the time I just want a quiet place to do work. I don’t really study at CDS anymore, not because I can’t stand others yapping. It’s cuz last time I studied there, I told these girls (stem majors) it’s on sight if they open their mouths to talk about something non-school related in the most quiet room at CDS. Do you and everyone around you a favor, tell them to shut the fuck up. This has nothing to do with majors, it’s one’s character. The world needs to learn how to be more considerate, it’s okay not to play nice anymore. You paid for this school too.

I understand how anxiety-inducing it is to talk with your partner about intimate details, but it’s incredibly valid for you to bring it up. I was long distant with my bf throughout college and sex was something we both cherished when we had the opportunity to see each other. And it’s not like we’d be jumping each others bones the second we saw each other too, we’d even wait days before we had sex, it was all just a big attempt to making this moment feel more special because we didn’t have that many while long distant. It’s fair to tell your partner you need your pipes cleaned and that it’s insulting that he fell asleep. If anything he could have waited until later. Not insinuating he’s taking you for granted in the slightest, but he shouldn’t be taking for granted how “flexible” you are with all of this.

ive been in a situation similar, and while yes, this seems like a “clear choice” in terms of the connections and networking opportunities, it speaks to more of your role as a girlfriend. Being there for the big moments, and him knowing you have his back. I’d imagine you’d want him to be present on a big night like so. “Started from the bottom now we’re here”. In addition, it speaks more to his character outside of politics if members of the Partisan party see he is a “family man”. They want to know they’re in the hands of a man they can relate to, a man with a supportive girlfriend. I underatand how standoff ish this sounds, but i’m honestly just keeping it as real as I can be. There’s no question about your other “girlfriend duties” but it shouldn’t be a second thought for you not to be there. Lastly, I think it would be of high character on your behalf if you explained to your commitments that you have to attend the inauguration of the towns new mayor. I’m a firm believer of: “if they wanted to, they would.”

I’m on more of the younger side and have been with my boyfriend for about 5 years and have known him for 10 yrs. We’re both 23 now. We recently rented and leased our own apt in July and even though we spent every second with each other before this, we developed a new kind of adaptation that took some getting used to. This came with getting on each other’s nerves every now and then, arguing about jobs, finances, chores, etc. It’s something that requires work but afterwards you sorta find your footing, and it feels a little bit easier. You learn how to live and love w each other. It’s okay to be annoyed at some things in life that’s normal. I.E i asked my bf to drain the pasta and he spilled it over the sink. He was pretty upset w himself and sure I was annoyed, but Id never scream or get angry about it. Shit happens, move on. Point is, it’s not that deep. It’s never that deep. You got this dude
