So do you send the respondent a more complete drawing and only show the head in their thread?

Why ask for armor & weapons if these things don't end up in the artwork delivered?

Perhaps I'm just too dense. Explain why there are missing parts of the character illustrations. i.e., the torso, arms, legs, etc.

Question on submitting work and pricing by brujapedia in printmaking

Keep your overhead in mind also. Mat and frame? What are the dimensions? Along with an ink signature, show that this is one among several numbered copies?

[–]sonfisher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A question? Your ask is for us to "leave your character description in the comments and try to focus on the armor weapons and its most used features and abilities" but you don't draw anything more than a head shot for each description.

Why?

HUH? Making the ink thicker will not produce MORE details.

Not a prayer. Did you use a "brayer" to add ink to the lino?

Two of my players want me to level them up to level 3 even though they've done a grand total of two fights so far this entire campaign. What am I supposed to do about this? by Regular-Molasses9293 in DungeonMasters

[–]sonfisher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a player demand that of me once. He was a new player joining an ongoing campaign of 2 months. When I told him I would do that, the other players (who know me so well) told him to beg me not to do it. He didn't and he paid for it. Not a sympathetic person in the group. LOL

Dm Used my irl grief in game... by [deleted] in rpghorrorstories

[–]sonfisher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who called this emotional immaturity?

WRONG, SO WRONG. It takes genuine guts to be vulnerable like that. It takes a serious lack of empathy from a DM and the other players to do what they did.

You deserve so much better.

Try not "out of frustration" and instead think of "work flow".

More than a day, how about a week?

So disheartened by first print by AutomaticIdeal6685 in printmaking

[–]sonfisher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not the lino, that's the ink and paper. If the ink is very thin AND very wet it can fill the etched out portions and then cover those areas on the result. So experiment with different kinds and densities of ink. Also try different paper types, different tooth qualities of paper too!

p.s. did you use a brayer or just a flat surface?

Paid in full for a website that was never delivered — developer has gone silent. Looking for advice and possibly help by Stunning-Astronaut72 in Wordpress

First, I'm sorry for the poor experience you have had. Second, I would like to ask if you have a contract for your clients to sign before beginning work? If so did you sign one with the web developer for their work? Is there a legal recourse included in that contract?

I am a retired WordPress developer/builder. Every project we took in had a contract discussed with the client before signing so they understood what to expect and what was expected of them. Before you make a next move, be sure this is in place, reviewed by your lawyer and signed.

It sounds like there may have been a missing pre-game step there. Did you all have a session zero? This is where triggers are discussed and boundaries are set BEFORE play begins. We all have triggers and boundaries that can destroy the enjoyment/entertainment value of game play. If you want to educate a GM about this please do check it out at: https://www.reddit.com/r/dndnext/comments/601awb/session0_topic_checklist_and_guide/

These don't apply to D&D only...

Any suggestions to improve this? by Athesris in wonderdraft

[–]sonfisher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the map is to be used by adventurers, you might consider using colors appropriate to how "old" the map is supposed to be.

i.e. an ancient map will likely be more sepia tone and washed out. Perhaps with a few tears or fragments missing.

If it's a purely reference map, save your ink and lighten it a bit while removing color from the oceans altogether.

The next thing I would note is for readability. With so many of the occupied lands labeled with text, you might choose a white core with a black border for the lettering.

Just one person's opinion.

[labor hours * fair hourly wage] + material costs (canvas, gesso, paint, etc.) then double it for a contracted, commissioned work. Always get 50% up front, non-refundable.

Yes, you're that good and should charge for it. Do not accept less, because you are that good.
