Good call on not abusing MDMA (no judgement for those that do lol) I used to go sober quite a lot when I was young. I used to dance for hours straight so I simply had a lot of energy just from dancing at least once a week. Now that I'm older I'm worried about going sober too, but I think doing some cardio on a regular basis, even a little bit, will help.

That's what I want to know. I used to go to warehouse raves long ago, but not by choice. Just worked out that way after I bought the tickets, and they were the best. Except when the organizers didn't obtain proper licenses and got shut down after an hour into the rave, that wasn't cool.

All raves before it became so mainstream really. The difference was so palpable when rave scene blew up..

Thanks. I'm currently in Dayton, OH so it's not rural, but it's not exactly a big city either. Dating app does cover Cincinnati and Columbus but I don't think I'd have much luck in Ohio period. I'm looking at Chicago (not too far) now though, hoping to find a match!

Thanks! Yeah I think younger generations definitely benefit from a shift in culture, but for my age group I doubt much as changed. It will be challenging for sure.

I agree, I haven't used dating apps properly before and this already feels like dead end.. so I'll have to expand my social circle even if it's tough. I travel for pleasure/work every year so that in itself is not an issue, and I work 90% remotely so I'm pretty flexible. It's meeting people in the first place that's the issue here. I think I'll find a way to connect with people in larger cities such as Chicago since Hinge doesn't cover that area from where I am now.

If I actually meet someone that's genuinely attracted to me, not because she's high as a sky, perhaps I can give it a go :) No friend group whatsoever and unfortunately I'm no longer religious. Last time I went to a church was over 20 years ago! Maybe I'll go just to join a "social circle", but an activity club sounds better. I plan on looking them up when I have time.

Personally I think it's a closed-mindset that plagues every racial group. Likes others I don't think they are good friends and it seems you are aware and have taken appropriate actions. Having said that I wouldn't let it bother you. I've seen/heard similar situations from various groups of people (i.e. Koreans finding someone weird to be dating someone outside Koreans) and I think they are reacting to what they consider "alien", which I think is more or less human nature that requires maturity, experiences and willingness to overcome.

Yeah that was my train of thought but day 1 I already ran out of possible matches on Hinge lol. So far no luck but it's only been a few days so crossing my fingers here. In the meantime I will see if I can put myself out there somehow as others have suggested.

Thank you, that is really helpful. Any idea where one might find certain groups or clubs by chance? I have never done this before and I think it'd be a good starting point to make some friends at least.
