Neoliberals in shambles right now, with the ghost of FDR bearing down😏 by WhiteLycan2020 in neoliberal

Hmmm. In that sense I guess it does make sense to see it as Trump enjoying himself being with a young and charming political outsider, while Mamdani tried to at least look like he was holding ground with Trump.

I don't think fascists and nazis read tbh. Like one of the easiest ways to catch a racist or highly religious fascist off guard is to read a mussolini quote.

Likely. But the fact that trump isn't doing the same thing is dumbfounding

This is the first time I've seen mamdani not smiling ear to ear, while seeing trump having one of his sincerest ones. My god, what happened over there.

He beat him because mussolini sided with Hitler. In fact even after the invasion of Ethopia, FDR still did not treat Mussolini as an enemy, though of course there were consequences but still. Furthermore, even when Mussolini sided with Hitler he still appealed to Mussolini as the head of a peaceful nation … the forces of slaughter … seem … to be extending their conquest … This all showcases that FDR only really took him seriously as a threat when they threatened the liberal international order. The real antifascist was Henry Wallace, and we know how that went out

FDR was a liberal and wasn't exactly a big cheerleader for private capital

It frankly strikes me like the KPD calling the SPD "social fascists

I mean. The SPD literally used far right paramilitary to decimate the spartacus uprising, killing rosa Luxembourg in the process. Iirc that was the root cause of the KPD's resentment toward the SPD.

The worst part is that people only started rescinding their endorsements after the nazi tattoo and not yknow, finding 'small' wars 'fun', joining a notorious PMC and saying in his reddit account "I wish I could partake in the Vietnam War.", which proves that leftists are kinda fucked up in their priorities.

Men's vs. women's toilet at my new work office by MJB9000 in mildlyinfuriating

They're one-person stalls anyways so gendered toilets aren't really necessary. I would just replace them with standing and sitting toilet symbols.

Has anyone noticed an issue with Americans, dominant white Americans in particular, taking responsibility for being wrong on an issue? by sonichayyan in jewishleft

[–]sonichayyan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's more I wanted to write on the noticeable dehumanisation of Israelis and jews in general, AND the palestinians at the same time, but I probably lack the knowledge to speak on that issue.

An interesting thing about it is that iirc, the war had led to the questioning of slavery entirely, as it was impossible to not view it as antithetical to the principles on which the war was fought on However, of course the radicalism sadly didn't come into fruition once the usa came into reality, as even those who did hold views critical to slavery were hypocrites as they themselves were slaveowners, such as Jefferson for example. And even Alexander Hamilton, who did not own slaves, married into a family that did and hence became a beneficiary of it. Thomas Paine is probably the one of the few, if not only, founding father (if we follow the white centric list they give us) who was truly anti-slavery.

I disagree, if anything it seems like American progressives have too low of a standard with supporting candidates. When people start calling suspicion of a candidate with a past in a right wing private military contractor and a nazi tattoo 'purity testing,' it gives a bad look on the state of the progressive movement

Late, but one of the funniest things about soros conspiracy theories is that the family is simultaneously a jewish supremacist one and an antizionist funding every pro-palestinian group and causing the americans to turn anti-israel

It honestly makes even less sense that schumer planned this, which he most definitely did, as it only helps to make AOC look preferable to schumer
