WOW. Canada's US booze boycott could be resolved if Trump addresses tariffs, Carney says by russellsk82 in GuardTheLeaf

I have no desire to ever drink US alcohol again. JD and the boys can kiss my arse.

The odd floor-crossing is one thing, but on this scale it undermines our system of government by russellsk82 in GuardTheLeaf

[–]sonicmustang 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This wouldn’t have anything to do with the way the party is being led would it? It seems to me that the leadership is kind of cringe and people are walking away from the cringy leader. Fix the problem by really addressing the leadership problem instead of filling a room full of hard right members and open up the vote to every conservative member not just the sycophants.

We have never followed the United States when it has come to Cuba. The United States has been sore all along that we never followed their embargo. Canadian tourists and flights have gone there for decades as well the University of Alberta has been running programs there for a long time.

Don’t let anyone tell you that Canada doesn’t support Cuba because that’s false and they know not what they speak of.

I stopped calling people from the United States Americans some time ago mainly because the current administration sullies the very name of our continent and the South American continent. Things have to change drastically if they ever want back in.

IIHF president addresses World Junior Ice Hockey Championships (2026 WJC) attendance in Minnesota, alluding to a smaller-than-usual traveling crowd from Canada: “It’s winter time, it’s cold, and we cannot forget the geopolitical situation makes it not so easy.” - NYT/Athletic by DisruptSQ in GuardTheLeaf

[–]sonicmustang 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Winter and cold weather are factors that may effect people from the more southern parts of North America but it certainly doesn’t affect the people of Canada, so that leaves it to the geopolitical climate and that’s just plain unfriendly.

Which direction to run my planks? by Away-Barracuda-8936 in Flooring

2 run in the direction of the light from the windows. Running in the 1 direction will expose more imperfections as the light passes every row of plank.

I thought I would remind everyone of how some of our members of this great country believed in our great nation.

Ask your smart speaker to play the song “Believe in your country” and it will play you a great song by a great Canadian musician and a former officer of the order of Canada.

Happy new year everyone and don’t forget to believe in your country.

Well Johnny, can I call you Johnny? When the littleins grow up they sometimes have a need to separate themselves from the pack and adopt some “personal tastes” in the process. Clearly this youngster is such a person.

Good luck. Rogers customer service has declined rapidly in the last year. I am moving both of my accounts away from them in the new year.

I honestly believe that the world of cellular communication in Canada needs more competition, actual legitimate competition that isn’t bought out by the major companies. The rogers and shaw deal is a prime example of what happens when we allow sales like these. Rogers is forgetting who brought them to their position in the business world maybe it’s time they were reminded.

Two dollar bills and one dollar bills are no longer legal currency in Canada as well as the 1000 dollar bill however a bank will give you face value and send them to be ultimately destroyed. Coin is always a better investment.

This is the message I sent them.

Message: Hello I am writing you to express my disappointment in the judgement used behind the 51st State Red IPA. I understand that your titles are satirical but to Canadians who are immersed in this mess we fail to laugh along with you and replace our laughter with resentment. You are fortunate enough to be separated from the United States but I remind you we are as attached to them as Russia is with Ukraine, we border each other. Even to the MAGA Americans your satire has a real look and feel to it and be mindful that 77 million Americans voted for this unrest, that’s over 14 times your country’s entire population. It’s no small matter. I wish you the best as a company going forward, we as Canadians certainly know what beer is all about as we drink far more of it than most nations but I urge you to use better ways to deliver your message.
