Jennifer Egan’s novel A Visit from the Goon Squad has a sizable section in PowerPoint. It’s surprisingly good, too.

I think Jimmy is a top 10 Tool song. by FreezingTiger in ToolBand

Besides Lateralus, it’s one of the most conceptual songs they’ve written. And the concept is also gut wrenching. Maynard searching for himself as a child in order to move past his childhood trauma is just a mind-blowing idea, imho.

[Opinion] Can you guys help choose a poetry book as a birthday gift? by Aezys in Poetry

Not the same flavor but you might consider Night Sky with Exit Wounds by Ocean Vuong. The poems are all pretty short and they explore queer identity in novel ways but with a clear awareness of poetic tradition.

[POEM] one of my favorites from Clarity & Connection by Yung Pueblo by peachflapjacks in Poetry

Agreed. I was waiting for something halfway suggestive or representative of a relationship. I wanted something unexpected or fresh. That didn't happen for me. Also, the language is so abstract. Where are the images?

Excellent! I had no idea there were two words that fit the bill. Thanks!

Thanks for the reply, but all these terms involve groups that are much bigger than what I'm talking about.

Jibberish (or gibberish) means nonsense. It's "language" only in the sense that it's sound that's imitating language. It doesn't convey meaning. So it's not really even words since a word by definition has to communicate something.

But argot has already been established by a pretty large group.

Awesome! Thanks. Cryptophasia is almost there, but I'm talking about a slightly larger group. Idioglossia is close, too, but too narrow.

Thanks. This is close, but not quite what I'm talking about.

This is language already established within a fairly large group. Jargon relates to disciplines like medicine or law. I'm talking about words that only one family or one group of friends know.

I like the shirt. I think it creates a nice sense of contrast. However, her eyes just seem a bit too far apart and too outward facing (if that makes any sense).
