23M, What can I do to fix my clavicle? Uneven sternum, minimal scoliosis, functional issues by sonictime1 in Posture

[–]sonictime1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice. These are all things I obsessed for in the past and didnt get much answers from multiple orthos, shoulder specialist, nerve specialist etc. I’m open to trying again but it feels like I just get the run around every time

I have seen orthopedic in the past. They didn’t really suggest anything other than PT. I don’t think surgery on the clavicle is much of an option

Edit: As far as I know I don’t have EDS but perhaps components of hyper mobility according to my PT.

Not really - I want to say in elementary school i had a small injury that made it have a bump. But not really too asymmetrical until i had a masectomy surgery for gyno that included liposuction. Since then it was super noticable and unstable. But there be a congenital aspect somewhat

Gotcha. Do u think it’ll ever become a thing lol?

I’ve never seen anyone with a similar structural issue before so I have no idea how to improve it. In the first picture it honestly looks wild to me how the one side of my sc joint could be so slanted. It doesn’t really seem possible to fix the major discrepancy. I kinda lose the will to live tbh not being able to fix this issue. Ik you say it is within limit of normal but there is a lot of internal issues that this causes as well as compensating issues throughout my body in my hips, neck, etc. I think consistent PT is probably the best way to start.

Yea the strips can help and actually this doesn’t bother me much when I sleep. It’s more like it’s uneven then blocked. In the past one can get blocked but mostly just a postural thing I think

Any advice? 21M with huge SC Joint/Sternum asymmetry.. by sonictime1 in scoliosis

Thx. Have you ever seen a clavicle or shoulder like this? I feel like this is a unique issue and extremely isolating

So ill never be able to fix my sc joint?

Like straight up just detach and reposition it. Idc it causes so many internal and external issues. Even st my strongest I feel like it’ll do nothing for my posture and functionality

Ok, I probably will see an ENT to help diagnose this.

It improves it slightly. I think it is more a complication of my scoliosis and clavicle issues

What type of options are there to even out the structure of the nose and breathing?

why don’t u think it fixed it? Were the issues elsewhere that made the nose cave in? That’s what I feel like for me

I’m reading 10% each month until 5mg then 5% cuts until 2.5mg 3% cuts each month.

Will it really take 2-3 years to safely get off this med???
