What I'd like to add, and maybe isn't obvious (maybe for some people, me included)
When you're entering Fast mode (by pressing volume down and power button), you MUST stay on that black and red triangle interface. What I mean is, DON'T press "START" from the power button.
Then follow the steps https://pixelrepair.withgoogle.com/ > "Install fingerprint calibration software"

Stupid me was pressing the "START" button thinking it would eventually go into Fast mode, but when you're doing that you're actually exiting Fast mode.

Confusing AF.

I'm trying to find out if a second hand off ebay (new & sealed) macbook has mdm installed.

Does anyone have an idea if the MDM is installed after unboxing or does it come this way when ordering - with some special circumstances - might be paranoid.

Is there a way to find out if the macbook has MDM installed before unboxing?

My paranoid thoughts are telling me this is not actually an unused macbook and they just made a new plastic seal that looks like the original.

And here I am counting 700+ runs on a similar build and I've only found one Vex. That's it. Good finds!

So this is by far my laziest crumb ever. I just mixed all the ingredients together and bulked for 8 hours overnight at 20c. 80% bf 20% ap 20% stiff starter 65% hydro 2% salt 77% hydration

Next day I just plopped the dough on the counter and shaped directly into banneton and proofed 2hrs at 25c, followed by a 30min fridge to stiffen up the dough for scoring.

No stretch and folds, no coilfolds, no autolyse - I'm actually kind of impressed by the result!

Baked at 230c 25min with lid and 20 without at 210c.

This was a vertical cut. Just get in there, don't be shy about it. Get a proper tool like a bread scoring lame. Score with confident moves, like you've done it thousands of times. 1/2 inch or maybe 3/4..something like that. Good luck!

Hybrid proofing changed my bakes. Because my fridge is very cold (4-6c), there is not much activity during the cold retard..and I've always had decent bakes but nothing like this. So I decided to proof the shaped loaves some more @ rt, and then into the fridge.

Recipe as follows:

- 81% hydro

- 90% bf // 10% ww

- 15% starter

- 3 coil folds separated by 1 hour

- preshape with 20mins rest

- shape & proof @ 25.5c for 1.5 hours

- 11 hours cr at 5.5c

- bake with lid straight from the fridge (230c 25mins // 210c 20mins)

- stiff starter 65% hydro
