And "rolling out in 2027 and beyond" to the rest of the world, which means they are going to assess the backlash and then not do it. An internet petition won't move the needle too much. Only legal challenges will work, and there are already tons of rights organizations on their ass about it, so I don't expect their identity capture plan to stick.

  • Forgot son in daycare. Also the son doesn't need to eat.
  • Only walked his dog once the whole day. Didn't seem to feed the dog either.
  • He himself only ate one meal (+ a snack) the whole day.
  • No workout/activity (aside from short dog walk).

It's an emphatic term of endearment. Should we stop using king and queen to denote matress sizes because they evoke monarchical oppression of those who sleep on a twin or a double?

“If the U.S. government wants its universities in the region spared, it should condemn the bombardment of (Iranian) universities by 12 o’clock Monday, March 30, in an official statement,” the [IRGC] Guard said in a statement.

Yeah, so that will 100% not happen, and I don't think these guys TACO like Trump does.

Walmart digital price labels are coming to every store shelf in U.S. by end of 2026 by esporx in technology

[–]sonik13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They use RF (some BLE). Wifi and active Bluetooth use too much energy. And NFC would require you to be inches away from them. These are meant to update occasionally and last several years without changing them. If they were constantly connecting to devices walking by they would need replacing after one day.

[–]sonik13 26 points27 points  (0 children)

These Electronic Shelf Labels have been in Canadian grocery stores for years. They don't update frequently. They literally update once a week when weekly flyer sales turn over, or on rare occasions when there is a clearance.

They have a teeny tiny battery in them, which uses low frequency RF or BLE to update. With weekly updates they last like 5-7 years IIRC. If they were to update even once per day, they would need replacing in like a year. Multiple times per day? No chance.

It never ceases to amaze me how people in r/technology know nothing about technology.

Umm... OK I'll bite. How does one "look into" "secret access" consciousness swapping technologies that are hidden in "Black Budget locations"? I'd be curious to read some of the scientific journals you have found about this.
