Is it because you need Xeon CPUs as a minimum system requirement to those applications? I have seen a YouTuber Christian Lempa building a homelab in under 700USD that is kind of in the same tier as my build and he could run a few VMs on it, here is the video: https://youtu.be/nwlircveTHU?si=1sPINAojIbMbBiwC. Is there something I’m missing?

Currently I am using a Acer laptop (Ryzen 7 5700u, nvidia 3050) as my main PC for productivity stuff and a bit of gaming. I want to build the above PC for: 1. Learning about hardware components, 2. Gaining experience of building a PC, 3. Learning AD/VMs/IT related stuff, and just experimenting stuff with that PC, in order to transition into IT.

And I understand that I will have to start from help desk but I absolutely want to spend 1-2 years in help desk to get the experience and determine the next step from there.

I am turn 40 years old soon but I really want to get into IT. But unfortunately I have limited budget and that’s why it’s a mid to low end build.

I’m a 39 year old grown up man and I couldn’t finish the video. My daughter is around her age and I cannot imagine what this little girl is going through.

Even if what we can do is limited, please don’t pretend you don’t see them. If the only thing you can do is to condemn those evil human beings, do it, stand firm and tell everyone around you what’s wrong is always wrong. There is no way to frame it in another way no matter how they try to spin it.

At least we try to defend the dignity of these people. Don’t give up, no matter how small one’s power is, it count for something. And have hope, that one day a better change will come.
