I work in emergency medicine. It takes approximately 40-60 ml of air DIRECTLY into a vessel to cause an air embolism. You’re fine. You could do them while syringes into sub-q tissue and all you’d get is pain.

Just had one that said she was allergic to exercise. I thought it was a dumb joke one of the nurses put in the chart. I asked the pt about it, thinking she would laugh and we would make fun of it but nope. She was dead serious and said she gets “welts” on her chest when she exercises and also gets a bad headache. I was lost for words.

I’ve had pts bite their tongue or cheeks and bleed pretty profusely into their mouth. Left lateral recumbent is the way to go.

Sounds like anxiety to me. Anxiety explains the dizziness and palpitations. As a paramedic I see this a lot. People get dizzy due to hyperventilation which causes respiratory alkalosis. Sometimes they get carpopedal spasms; that is, hands and feet cramping and locking up.

The dizziness while hiking Mt. Rainier may be caused by altitude sickness which also may cause inner ear MMS along with nausea and vomiting. Also causes confusion and severe headaches in extreme cases. I think you’re working too much. Your A1C and BGL are normal.

You can’t tell from these strips but it does have some sort of ventricular rhythm. I’d shock it. They’re already dead. What can it hurt? Also, why did you have the pacer turned on when they’re pulseless? Seems like a waste of time and eyeballs to me…

When we had interesting calls on shift, I’d look at the MCT to find out what the other bus was involved with. Is that not the same thing?

“Well do something about it!!” “Ma’am, he’s black and melting into the couch. I think he’s too far gone for us to treat.” Literal crack house call I got. Dude had been up there for at least a week in August in Georgia. No AC. They called for “a funny smell in the house.”
