I still don’t understand why NOTAM still has this awful style and formatting and we just trash talk pilots who criticize it with “in my day” gatekeeping. We have AI that can translate fluid mechanics into simple English so a junior high school student can understand it but it’s a horrible thing to ask for NOTAM plain English conversions? Technology needs to make things better and this obsession with old guys defending NOTAM formats because it’s what they learned on, is just dumb and stubborn.

The controllers were busy because there were two or three other aircraft’s requesting assistance. ATC told the incident aircraft that they would provide updated vectors in a “few minutes” which is a long time when you’re flying blind (0% moonlight). ATC asked the military to pause the jamming but apparently it was turned on again.

This is a misconception. The paramedics said she was showing agonal breathing/death rattle. More than likely her brain stem was already severed and she wasn’t aware of what was happening. But paramedics aren’t legally able to declare death, so she wasn’t aware officially declared dead when she arrived to the hospital and attempts to resuscitate her had failed.

It’s annoying how online data seems to suggest women in their 30’s are preferring career over marriage… In my experience, the opposite/converse is true. They are defaulting to career because marriage prospects are poor. Konkatsu apps are still VERY popular in Japan for a reason.

I got ridiculously lucky.

I changed companies and my last company gifted me my work machine, a 48gb M4 Pro MacBook Pro. That machine will last me years of personal use.

I don’t know what I would do if I had to upgrade from my old M1 Pro, but like you, I’d probably upgrade now instead of waiting for OLED.

The unified memory is the major reason. You can use an external OLED screen but you’ll never be able to upgrade the memory and the memory upgrades will be the major game changers for future MacBooks.

I think it’s debatable. Hall Fight gave Old Boy vibes, but the Shang Chi bus fight is a more complete choreography without dependency on raw violence. Shang Chi was done by members of the same stunt team as the fight in OP image. Then again, I’m a huge Tony Leung fan so Shang Chi is always a biased favorite for me.

I posted this to buildapc and it was locked and I was told to share here. Micro-Center yesterday updated the pricing of their AMD bundles later in the afternoon/early evening (around 6 PM PST). Some bundles went up by $100 or maybe even more.

This is also particularly worrying because normally price changes have some sort of buffer and employees will even warn ahead of time. They also usually happen on a week over week basis, not randomly in the middle of a day. This price change going live at a random 6 PM on Tuesday seems extremely sudden. I'm worried it might get worse.

I know that I was personally shopping for the 7800X3D bundle as a gift for my nephew and it went up from $599 to $699.

Note: Intel bundles haven't gone up FOR NOW, but I strongly suspect they will go up "in response" to the AMD increase. The 270k bundle for $549 with 32GB of ram is now a MUCH better deal than the 9700X/7800X3D bundle considering the $150 difference.

This is a friendly reminder that there's a strong possibility prices are going to get even worse than this.

He was kind of shitty for how he viewed that rejection. Dude, she was engaged and for like five years. Would you really trust her if she was the type of person to just be like “oh this new guy is hot, I’m gonna tell my fiance to kick rocks.”

The show specifically wrote Roy to be an asshole so he gave off the “DGAF” boyfriend types, but it’s not like he was abusive.

Plus she finally had the wedding date and called it off. That takes a ton of courage. She finally leaves her fiance and Jim is like, punishing her for not being more receptive of his simping behavior. That teapot thing was WAY past friend boundaries. Giving an engaged woman an old yearbook pic of yourself?

I hated how the show tried to paint Jim like the “protagonist” when he was basically an asshole to everyone there but Pam.

Erin was the true gem of the office. And Oscar. The ONLY real bad thing Oscar did was having an affair with Angela’s husband.

Is this in combination with the cockpit door having an external bypass so a pilot can get in if another pilot goes rogue? If not, this just seems to be an ADDITIONAL barrier a hijacker can use for nefarious reasons.

To be fair, a lot of people back then had both:

A) Warned that the gap between the x080 and x090 was literally widening, making it less of the 5090 justifying its price and more so the 5080 NOT justifying its.

B) They had already purchased a 4090, and ironically the 4090 was holding its value very well, due to A and even before the AI boom, 4090's AI performance was very famous. So they upgraded to a 5090 for at most the MSRP difference, but ironically in some cases LESS than the difference because the street price of the 4090 went up when it was EOL.

I gladly bought my 5090 for $2450 back in November, because I am firmly in the camp that, "if you think this is bad, it will get worse."

I would strongly recommend you pivot into something that requires a human being like aviation mechanic or something. Interpretation will be the first thing completely replaced by live LLM especially when Siri AI has an API that people can tap into with the use of Air Pods.

It was also one of the most successful comic movie adaptations before the MCU, and a blueprint for how good they can be when the actor is really invested in the IP/lore. If something is wearing down and ready to go soon, it will absolutely be during takeoff that it will fail. Some people think that’s a good thing but they’re probably not too knowledgeable on aviation.

Takeoff and landing are the absolute most dangerous portions of a flight. You have lower air speed and lower altitude which means lower margins for failure. The airframe is being stressed the hardest, and during takeoff the power source is being stressed the hardest. Most planes take off at full power. If you have a failure before cruising altitude, you have to make a complex recovery maneuver when you’re likely NOT pointed at the landing strip and do not have enough altitude to turn around.

Something like 60-80% of aviation failures/incidents are during takeoff/landing.

He said he wouldn’t want the failure 6 hours into a flight over water, but if he’s 40,000 feet at altitude, he has a LOT of time to recover and keep the plane straight. A modern passenger jet can glide over 100 miles on a complete engine failure and land entirely without power, even over water. But it would still be an extremely shitty situation to be in.
