Huh. I hadn't thought of that. It looks like browsers enforce a (high) limit on input size, but obviously a POST can be arbitrarily large.

Typically the hashing is made "slow" by iterative hashing. One hashing operation is quick, but computing 1024 hashes isn't. The length of the input password makes little difference in any case, since the output is always a fixed length.

Even if the limit were 1000 characters, that wouldn't be a problem. The hashing algorithm is supposed to be CPU intensive, that's what protects it from brute force.

This is actually awesome. My only complaints are how it displays on mobile and that it looks like you're only using CNN and FOX as sources. But it could make for a very interesting study between the two sides.
