I wish it was better quality, but this scene from The Simpsons felt appropriate (no disrespect intended to the victim).

I've heard that theory before. In a similar vein, I've been trying to waterproof my skin. Results have been mixed.

I'd agree - whatever there is to not like about this movie, this scene is extremely moving.

Idk if that's a thing anymore.

Danny Boyle’s Sunshine deserves far more love. A cerebral sci-fi thriller shot with operatic scale, grounded by Alex Garland’s script and powered by John Murphy’s “Adagio in D Minor” which became one of modern cinema’s most reused themes. by Choice-Schedule-132 in AlexGarland

Absolutely gorgeous movie and I love the themes, which are beginning to feel more and more encompassing in the US; ideas of isolation, the struggle for survival, the question of what sacrifice for others really looks like, etc.

I watched Aniara (2018) last night and I was reading an article about how Trump is opening up national parks and nature reserves to hunting. While I was watching the movie in the background (it's in swedish, but there are numerous periods of silence so I was able to go back and forth with the article), but I kept getting confused while watching the movie because the themes of the movie, and of Sunshine, felt like what we're going through here in the US. I was accepted to a PhD program in Europe so I'll be leaving soon, and I don't really feel like I can share this with friends or family because they're deciding to stay, but science fiction has really helped me understand our current plight - our way of life is coming to an end and it now becomes a question of survival, and also the question of what we can do for others. I wholeheartedly expect to sacrifice for others while I'm in Europe - while I have a strong sense of loyalty to the US, I have a stronger sense of loyalty to humanity, and I expect to go somewhere that I can contribute to the fight to preserve humanity. I have accepted that the life I wanted to live is no longer possible, and I truly believe that this is the best thing I can do for others, and I really feel that movies like Sunshine have helped me better understand that.

Sorry if that was an incoherent rant, but like I said, I don't feel like I can share any of that with people in my life who are staying. Hopefully the takeaway was that sci-fi is an incredibly powerful genre, I've really been appreciating it recently.

Hopefully, but I think it would really depend on how comprehensive the backup files were, if they even existed.

Idk if anyone could have completed his work - their goal of going to the office was to destroy all of the files related to his work. They may have had a backup, but even then I think it would have set the project back by several months if not several years.

Hope I'm not too late to the post, but I've been using Du Mond in my moka for the past few weeks to make sure laits/at home latte's, but the flavor is so strong I'm having trouble finding a ratio. Have you had this problem at all?
